Diamonds are created under pressure

Hi There!

For today’s card, I used Krumspring’s ‘Shine bright like a Diamond’ set. I really like that phrase and was planning to use it, until I saw another sentiment on the set: ‘Diamonds are created under pressure’. Isn’t that wonderful to use on an encouragement card?

As the font is pretty small, I added a section of the larger phrase to create my sentiment strip.

I stamped the diamonds onto some holographic cardstock. I LOVE how they change colour in the differing light – just like real gems!

Anyway, I’m entering this card in the current Casology challenge – ‘diamond’.

Thanks for stopping by – and Happy Friyay!

Be Safe. Eat Cake.

Hi Everyone!

For today’s card, I used a new Riley’s & Company sentiment – which I HAD to have as soon as I saw it! I have a lot of cake stamps so I have a feeling this will be appearing on quite a few cards!

I used an older stamp/die set from Simon Says Stamp which I coloured using my Twinkling H2Os. The background was created using some controlled ink smooshing!

I Heart Summer!

Hi Everyone!

The theme for this month’s Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesday is ‘Summer’ and so I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to use my Sunny Studios layered popsicles. I find their layering stamps super easy to line up – and the popsicles are no exception!

Once I stamped the images several times using Altenew inks, I felt I needed ‘something’ to anchor the collection. I did a little controlled ink smooshing and then added a border die from Poppystamps – I think it almost looks like some sort of quirky popsicle holder! I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp to complete the card

Thanks for looking!

You are so incredibly awesome!

Hi everyone!

I am loving how nicely the distress oxide inks stamp and for today’s card I’ve used them with the gorgeous Flower Turnabout stamp from Concord & 9th.

I embossed a sentiment from Paper Source and added a couple of vellum flourishes to finish it off.

I’m entering this card in the current Flower Challenge – heat/dry embossing and the challenge hosted by Where Creativity Meets C9 – embossing.

Sparkly Hydrangea

Hi everyone!

It’s been a while since I played with my Winnie & Walter stamps and as my hydrangea is just starting to bloom, I chose the gorgeous hydrangea stamp from their Addie’s Garden set. I embossed the flower and leaves with silver embossing powder from Hero Arts and then coloured them using my Twinkling H20’s. I fussy cut the images and then stuck them to my bas card using differing depths of foam tape.

I added an older sentiment from Hero Arts, some stickles and a few Pretty Pink Posh sequins to finish it off.

I’m entering this card into the current challenges hosted by  A Blog Named Hero (Florals/Winnie & Walter) and The Flower Challenge (Embossing Heat/Dry).

Let your dreams take flight

So today’s card started as an entry for the new Color Throwdown challenge, but once I had stamped and coloured the gorgeous Penny Black image with lighter colours in the palette, I just couldn’t add the darker pink! I liked the soft colours too much!

So instead, I added some diamond stickles, smooshed on some Tumbled Glass distress ink and added a Penny Black sentiment and called it a day.

As I used my Twinkling H2O watercolour paints and did some gentle ink smooshing, I’m entering this into the current CAS Watercolour challenge as the theme is ‘butterfly’.
