Forget-me-not hello

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the Freshly Made Sketches challenge .

When I started on this card, I knew I wanted to use an embossing folder for the bottom part of the sketch, but apart from that, I just let my recent supplies lead the way! I flicked through my recent purchases and decided that it was most definitely time to use the beautiful Forget-Me-Not botanicut die set from The Greetery that I finally got hold of last month. I used a stamp from the Taylored Expressions Abstract Accents set and a Simon Says Stamp embossing folder. It wasn’t the one that I had intended to use, but I actually don’t think I’ve bought the particular folder that I had in mind!! The sentiment is by Memory Box.

Just Us Girls Guest Designer Week 4

Happy Saturday!

I have the honour of being June Guest Designer for the Just Us Girls challenge and today is my last GD post as it’s the last Saturday in June. I can’t believe it, the month has flown by! Thanks to all the lovely design team members who have been so welcoming and supportive!

This week is photo week and there’s a fun beachy/pineapple scene! When I saw it, I thought I would use a beach scene stamp as I don’t have any pineapple dies or stamps. Then I remembered my Taylored Expressions red rubber/cling pineapple layering set… I really struggled with it when I tried it and thought I’d never use it again, but for some reason I held onto it…. So I decided to give it another go….

I watched a how-to video by Taylor who made it look very easy and so, armed with acetate and my MISTI, I was determined to create a host of fun pineapple….

My first couple of attempts were OK, the position of the layers looked fine but I didn’t like the colours I used. Alas, when I found a colour combo that I liked, I messed up the stamping… SO. MANY. TIMES….. and always with THE. LAST. LAYER! Argh!

I had originally envisaged at least three pineapples on my card but I have to admit that I quickly changed my mind and stopped stamping as soon as I had one pineapple that that looked OK!

I used Tumbled Glass distress ink to create an oval in the centre of my card and stamped the sentiment from the set. I fussy cut my pineapple and added it to my card base with some heart gems to complete my CAS card.

And that stamp set? It has gone right into the ‘too difficult for LucieG’ box!!

Head over to the Just Us Girls challenge to see the amazing inspiration from the talented design team – we hope you can play along this week!

New Home Heart

Hello Everyone!

Today I’m playing along with clean and simple challenge at The Paper Players where the theme is ‘house’.

I started by embossing a heart to my card base using a die from the Pinpoint Hearts set by Poppystamps. I then cut a section of the Sugar Pea Designs Homescape die, adhered it to a strip of glitter card and added it to the card base.

Finally I stamped a Taylored Expressions sentiment.

Meadow Rue

Hello Everyone!

Today I’m playing along with colour challenge at The Paper Players.

Unfortunately, I haven’t had much crafty time this week so I ended up putting this card together just before the challenge deadline! Just made it! Phew!

I used a beautiful older die called Meadow Rue by Simon Says Stamp which I coloured with Distress Oxides. I adhered it to a panel embossed with a Taylored Expressions embossing folder and added a sentiment by Memory Box.

Les fleurs graciles

Hello Everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I just love what Cecile called the whimsical fuzzy background!! My interpretation uses a Taylored Expressions abstract stencil and Salvaged Patina ink that I blended and then smooshed onto my card base. I decided to use my new Fleurs Graciles die from Simply Graphic as the focal point for this card and added a little Simply Graphic bow as well.

The sentiment is by Pretty Pink Posh.

Easter Frames

Happy Friyay everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the sketch challenge at The Paper Players.

Easter is fast approaching now, so time for me to get back to some seasonal cards! When I saw the sketch, I thought the You’ve been framed – Spring die set by Taylored Expressions would work well, so I pulled them out and got to work. I created a blended background using Distress Oxide inks, trimmed it into three rectangles and adhered three die cut frames. I inlaid aqua die cut pieces into the eggs and added a sentiment from the Mini Strips – Easter stamp set to complete my card.
