Christmas in July 2023 – Bonus Day

Hello All!

I can’t believe Christmas in July is over!  I have really enjoyed this annual challenge, even if it was a struggle at times to craft every day!

In addition to cardmaking, I also decided to try my hand at cross stitch. It’s been years since I’ve done any sort of needlecraft but I found such a cute little reindeer kit in my local sewing store that I decided to give it a go.

I have to confess, it wasn’t a soothing make – stitching on navy cloth was hard on my eyes!! I had to undo a fair few stitches and ran out of red thread as a result, but fortunately I had another colour that worked well! I’m still quite tempted to try another kit – on white cloth this time! May leave it a few more months though!

Day 6 – 6 Days of Christmas Tags 2022

Hi everyone!

As Tracey McNeely isn’t running her 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year, I have created my own event using 25 days from Tracey’s event posts over the last decade, as I explained in this post. Unfortunately I only had time to make six tags this year.

Day 6’s inspiration is Day 23, 2016.

For my take on the wreath tag, I used some die sets kindly sent to me by Penny Black – the Jumbo Bauble set (51-743), part of the big holly stem in the Holly-Days set (51-741), and sprigs from Stocking Stuffers (51-747) and Joy of Giving (51-748). The sentiment is from the Merry Edger set (51-745).

Hi everyone!

As Tracey McNeely isn’t running her 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year, I have created my own event using 25 days from Tracey’s event posts over the last decade, as I explained in this post. Unfortunately I only had time to make six tags this year.

Day 5’s inspiration is Day 17, 2018. Click here to see the tag I made then!

I had so much fun with this tag! I chose a circle die from Simon Says Stamp and images by Mama Elephant.

Day 4 – 6 Days of Christmas Tags 2022

Hi everyone!

As Tracey McNeely isn’t running her 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year, I have created my own event using 25 days from Tracey’s event posts over the last decade, as I explained in this post. Unfortunately I only had time to make six tags this year.

Day 4’s inspiration is Day 13, 2019. Click here to see the tag I made in 2019!

After creating a tag with a sleigh yesterday, I thought it was so funny to have another sleigh tag today. For my super simple take, I chose a stamp from a very old Stampin Up set (Sleigh Full of Toys) which I coloured with my Twinkling H2O paints.

Day 2 – 6 Days of Christmas Tags 2022

Hi everyone!

As Tracey McNeely isn’t running her 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year, I have created my own event using 25 days from Tracey’s event posts over the last decade, as I explained in this post. Unfortunately, I only had time to make 6 tags this year.

Day 2’s inspiration is Day 20, 2017. Here’s what I made five years ago.

I used dies from Penny Black’s Stocking Stuffers set (51-747). The stocking is cut from some old paper from my patterned paper mountain and I used stiffened felt for the trim. The tag base is from the Tagged set (51-007).
