Technique – die cutting

Featuring die cutting

Sunset Cityscape

Hi everyone!

I’ve had the Altenew Cityscape dies on my wishlist since they were released and I finally bought them last week. They are as fabulous as I’d hoped!

I used a photo of a city skyline at sunset to help me with the ink blending – I wanted to show how the setting sun was reflected in parts of the buildings. It took a little while to make this card as I had to be quite precise with the blending but I am quite happy with how it turned out in the end!

Thanks for looking!

Golden birthday

Happy Saturday Everyone!

For today’s card, I used a set of dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs (which I bought after Christmas but hadn’t got round to using yet!) and a die from Penny Black Stamps that I have been trying to get my hands on for a few months. Luckily my local craft store had a Penny Black delivery last weekend and I was able to snap it up!

I used the four colours from this week’s Color Throwdown challenge (navy, light pink, white and gold) on a kraft card base. When I originally put the sentiment on the card, it looks a bit ‘lost’ so I added a small vellum rectangle to help it stand out a bit more.

I’m also entering this card into the current Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge (going round in circles).

Thanks for looking!

Magical Birthday

Hi Everyone!

For today’s card, I paired some new fairy dies and stamps from Poppystamps with a gorgeous background die from Simon Says Stamp. I used some of the scraps from the Nuvo embellishment mousse background that I made a couple of weeks ago, together with some cream shimmery card stock.

I’m entering this into two challenges – the AAA Cards challenge (birthday) and the Less is More challenge (shimmer).

AAA Cards is celebrating its third birthday with a super blog hop and also some fabulous giveaways – check it out! Oh, and you’ll also see a sneak peek of the new DT members…!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Summer flowers

Hi everyone!

It’s an overcast day here today (typical bank holiday weather really) so I decided to make a bright summery card!

I used stamps from Simon Says Stamp, plus a stencil from My Favorite Things and a gorgeous embossing folder from Spellbinders!

I’m entering this into three challenges: Freshly Made Sketches, Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge and Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesday.

Have a great day!
