Technique – die cutting

Featuring die cutting

Happy Birthday Bro!

Hi everyone

I have the honour of being a guest designer over at the Less is More challenge blog this week.

The theme is ‘personalise it’ and here is the card I made for my DJ brother using dies from Technique Tuesday and My Favourite Things.

I created the personalised sentiment using good ol’ MS Word and the Bradley Hand Font, which I love to use for my personalised cards!

The design team have created some wonderful cards for this challenge over at the Less is More blog – I hope you have a chance to check them out and join in the challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Owl

Hi everyone!

I love participating in sketch challenges as they often push me beyond my CAS comfort zone… and I also find that I can use up some of my very neglected patterned paper mountain at the same time!

Today’s card is for the current My Favorite Things sketch challenge – I’ve paired MFT stamps with dies from Simon Says Stamp and Memory Box on this card. And I’ve been able to use some of my patterned paper (from My Mind’s Eye). Woo hoo indeed!

Thanks for looking!

A floral hello

Happy Saturday!

I’ve been practising my no-lines colouring today. I stamped the gorgeous floral bouquet image from Avery Elle in Antique Linen distress ink and then used my Twinkling H2Os to colour the image.

I cut a frame using a die from My Favorite Things and added a sentiment die from Avery Elle and a smattering of gold stickles to finish off the card.

I’m entering this into the current Color Throwdown challenge (coral, green and yellow) and the Flower challenge (anything goes).

Thanks for looking!

I’m here for you

Hi everyone!

I’ve been playing with Distress Oxide inks today – they are such fun!

I created a smooshed background that I used for the butterflies and then added a strip of stencilled cardstock that I’d sprayed with water repeatedly.

I’m entering this into the current Case This Sketch challenge.

Sunset Cityscape

Hi everyone!

I’ve had the Altenew Cityscape dies on my wishlist since they were released and I finally bought them last week. They are as fabulous as I’d hoped!

I used a photo of a city skyline at sunset to help me with the ink blending – I wanted to show how the setting sun was reflected in parts of the buildings. It took a little while to make this card as I had to be quite precise with the blending but I am quite happy with how it turned out in the end!
