Technique – die cutting

Featuring die cutting

White on White Thanks

Hi everyone

I didn’t have too much time to craft today but wanted to do a white-on-white card, which is the theme for the current Addicted to CAS challenge.

I used dies from Memory Box, Winnie and Walter and Penny Black to cut regular white cardstock and glitter cardstock (but I’m afraid you can’t see the glitter very well). Anyway, I thought I’d add a vellum panel behind the main die cut image… then I added some flowers…. then some pearls… I couldn’t stop myself….. Not sure the end result really qualifies as CAS, although in my defence there is still a fair bit of white space….

Words Take Centre Stage

Happy Sunday everyone!

It’s time for a new challenge over at AAA Cards. This fortnight’s theme is ‘Word take centre stage’ and Uniko is our sponsor.

When I saw the theme I immediately thought of my sentiment stamps from Impression Obsession. I love this Journey stamp and really wanted to use it as I think it is so powerful – although I must confess, I did find it quite challenging to work into a CAS card! In the end, I kept it very simple with just a raised panel and a couple of Penny Black die cuts. I did create a few cards using this stamp, which I’ll share at some point!

My teammates have shared some gorgeous CAS cards in the AAA Cards blog and we are also joined by Guest Designer Nonni from Nonni’s Handmade Cards. She has some breathtaking creations on her site – please drop by and take a look!

Thanks for stopping by – I do hope you play along with us!

Belated Birthday Wishes

Hi everyone

For today’s quick card, I used a gorgeous die from Simon Says Stamp which I cut twice – once in glitter paper and once in vellum.

I offset the glitter die cut to expose just a thin shadow of vellum. I added some Hero Arts Metallic Décor and a sentiment from Clearly Besotted to complete the card.

I’m entering this in the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge – ‘birthday bash’.

Thanks for stopping by!

Bright Anniversary

Hi Everyone

It’s still so hot and sunny here in London – I’m sure it can’t last much longer. My craft room is like an oven, so I was only in there for a short amount of time today!

Here is my card – inspired by the Ellen Hudson June Pinsights challenge. The dies and sentiment stamp are by Essentials by Ellen and I also used a Tim Holtz flower stencil on the hearts and base card.

I’m entering this into the Ellen Hudson challenge and also the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.
