Christmas Card Throwdown Guest Designer

Hello everyone!

During Christmas in July, I discovered a new-to-me challenge, the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown! I love the idea of creating one Christmas card each week and hope to continue to play along throughout the year!

I’m honoured to be the Guest Designer for their current colour challenge; this month’s palette is orange, green and gold.

What an interesting combo for festive cards! I actually worked with a similar palette during Christmas in July. I liked the idea of having a green background again but I wanted to switch it up a bit this time….

So, I created a blended background using Spiced Marmalade and Carved Pumpkin distress inks and a Taylored Expressions oval stencil.  I splattered and then lifted some water droplets before using a Uniko stencil with some green Nuvo embellishment mousse – love the shimmer from this paste!

I added a gold Impression Obsession deer and a Memory Box sentiment to complete my card.

The Design Team have some amazing inspiration over on the challenge blog – you must check it out! Hope you can play along with the challenge – I can’t wait to see how this palette is used!

Thanks for stopping by!

Day 4 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year!

The sponsor for Day 4 was Uniko. I don’t have many Uniko products but when I made this tag for last year’s challenge, I put the Rustic Christmas set on my wish list and picked it up during the year! I knew I wanted to use the beautiful tree this year so for my tag, I drew from the inspiration tags created by Hannelie and Rahmat.

I stamped the tree using distress ink spritzed with water and added a couple of red birds by Memory Box. I fussy cut the tree and added it to a base that I had stamped using an older Hero Arts background stamp.

Christmas in July – Day 3

Hello everyone!

Here’s my card for Christmas in July Day 3 (Day 19 of the colouring challenge) using one of my very first Penny Black stamps! Isn’t that deer the cutest?!

I coloured him with my Twinkling H2Os this week and then created the background using a Uniko stencil with some distress ink covered with glitter paste.

Orange Gerbera

Happy Friyay!

I was fortunate to win a Uniko set of stamps through the Less is More challenge blog last month and I chose the Gerbera set. They’re my first Uniko stamps and I was so surprised by the size of the set when it arrived – so much bigger than I was expecting! The images are great for colouring and I chose one for my entry for this week’s Freshly Made sketches challenge. I embossed the image and then coloured it with my Twinkling H2Os. I added some paper from My Mind’s Eye and a sentiment from Hero Arts plus a few enamel dots to finish it off!

Thanks for looking!
