Technique – Stamping

Featuring stamping

Love You. Mean It.

Hi there everyone!

For today’s card, I pulled out an older Penny Black heart border stamp from my wood mounted stamp collection – it’s been quite a while since I used it and I enjoyed inking it up again!

I blended a little Tumbled Glass distress ink before I stamped the image and then added Bundled Sage afterwards.

To finish off the card, I added a sentiment from My Favorite Things.

I used Delicata shimmer inks for the image and sentiment – I just love that shimmer!

I’m entering this into the current Case This Sketch Challenge and also the Work Your Stash Wednesday challenge over on Instagram.

Have a delightful day!

Hi Everyone!

I’m loving the sketch for this week’s Case This Sketch challenge – so many possibilities! In the end, I kept it simple!

I stamped and coloured a fabulous image from PaperArtsy using distress oxide inks. To finish off the card, I added a  Clearly Besotted sentiment to a blended strip of card and adhered it to the card.

Colourful Cosmos

Hello everyone!

When I saw the bright palette for this week’s Color Throwdown challenge (hot pink, lime green, yellow and pale blue), I knew I wanted to use them with the new Simon Says Stamp Cosmos background stamp. But I only purchased the stamp on release day, so knew that the stamp wouldn’t get to me in time!

I was DELIGHTED to be proved wrong when I saw my envelope from Simons on my mat this morning! Isn’t the stamp fabulous?

I stopped what I was doing and got colouring with my Twinkling H2Os and then added a few lines of Prismacolour pencils for a bit of depth. Really looking forward to playing with this stamp a lot more!

I’m also entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge (anything goes).

Go Wild

Hi there!

The theme for this fortnight’s Less is More challenge is ‘cute/one layer card’ and I immediately thought of this gorgeous Woodware lion that I had bought on pre-order. He arrived yesterday and I couldn’t wait to ink him up and get colouring.

The image is MUCH bigger than I was expecting, so I stamped it on a 7×5 card base as I wanted to still have a good amount of white space on my card. I used my prisma coloured pencils to colour it in – I still have a lot to learn with these pencils, but this was a great image to practice with!

I edged the image with a light green pencil and added a sentiment from the stamp set to finish it off.

Australia Day

Happy Australia Day to all my Australian friends!

I was finally able to get down to a bit of colouring this afternoon! Of course, I had to choose something with an Australian theme for today and pulled out the wonderful Avery Elle/Ellen Hutson United we Flourish ‘G’day Mate’ set. And found a way to use EVERY SINGLE MAIN IMAGE on one card!!!!

I wanted to choose non-traditional colours and so used the Ellen Hutson Pinsights challenge mood board. Isn’t this month’s board fabulous! I may have to use this again.

Anyway, after colouring the images with my Twinkling H2Os, I turned my attention to the card base. I created a background using a couple of Distress Oxide inks. I then used an Ellen Hutson heart die to cut a piece of white card stock before embossing it with a Couture Creations embossing folder.

The sentiment die is also by Avery Elle.
