Newton’s Easter fun

Hello everyone!

Although I try not to buy Easter sets, every year, a few break my resolve. This year, I couldn’t resists the Newton’s Nook Newton’s Easter set. Isn’t it cutte!

I used my twinkling H2Os to colour the image and then applied some distress ink – using a heart stencil from Simon Says Stamp. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.

I’m entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (anything goes) and the Just Us Girls challenge (CAS).

Tulip egg

Hi everyone and happy Good Friday to you.

I pulled out one of my old wooden stamps for this card – this one s from Whipper Snapper and has 2005 on it! I think I bought it a few years later, maybe in 2008. You know I have so many of them, but they just aren’t as easy to use as clear stamps with a stamp positioner, are they. However, I love the impression from my wooden stamps and don’t think could ever part with them. Luckily I have a good storage system for them and whilst they do take up a lot of space, it works for me. Anyway, I think I’m going to challenge myself to use at least one a week now.

On to the card. After embossing, I coloured the egg with my Twinkling H2Os – I think it looks a bit like stained glass, don’t you? I then fussy cut it and attached it to an ink-blended strip that I had embossed with a Carabelle Studio folder. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.

I’m entering this card into the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and the Retro Rubber challenge (anything goes).

Easter Smiles

Hi there!

Every year, I always feel that I don’t spend enough time using my Easter supplies. I don’t have THAT much, and I try to be quite disciplined with Easter-themed purchases, but I still feel a lot of pretty stamps and dies are far too neglected.

For today’s card, I could not resist inking up one of my favourite Easter Stamps, purchased many years ago from Stamping Bella. Isn’t it cute? I coloured it with my Twinkling H2Os and added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp. To add a bit of interest to the background, I lightly stamped  a My Favorite Things background stamp with distress ink before colouring in the main image.

I’m going to enter this into the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (Anything Goes).

Searching for my missing mojo

Happy Saturday everyone!

I have a question for you…. has anyone seen my mojo? It seems to have gone AWOL. I want to get crafty, but I can’t… so frustrating.

In an attempt to get back on track, I decided to CASE one of my favourite Easter cards this year – by the talented Koren Wiskman using stamps and dies from Your Next Stamp. What a cute set!

While I was on her site getting the link, I spotted that Your Next Stamp actually has a challenge and that spurred me on to do another card (this time to enter into the challenge), using the sketch and Koren’s card as inspiration!

For those of you interested in my first Koren-inspired card, here it is! I added a Simon Says Stamp sentiment die to my card so I’m going to enter this into the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge where the theme is Easter/Spring.

Message from coral bunny

Hi there everyone!

Well today’s card certainly turned out a lot brighter than my usual choice of colours, don’t you think?! I decided to play along with both the Color Throwdown challenge (coral, green and kraft) and the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and somehow my card ended up on the brighter end of the colour spectrum, a bit outside my usual, more muted, comfort zone, but I guess challenges should push you too, shouldn’t they!

Anyway, this card was super easy to put together – I stamped the Reverse Confetti bunny in Abandoned Coral distress oxide ink and the cut it out with the coordinating die. Following the sketch, I cut a piece of My Mind’s Eye paper and adhered that to my base card , finishing it off with a strip of glitter paper. Once the card was assembled, I felt that kraft background needed something a little extra. As I’d already stuck  everything down, I couldn’t use my standard go-to’s (embossing/stencilling) so I pulled out a tiny bunny stamp and stamped it a few times using versamark. I do like this watermark effect and should use it more often!

I’m also entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge which has a fabulous mood board for Easter/Spring inspiration.

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to my lovely mum!

Here’s the card I made her as she loves cats!! I’ve had this idea in my head since I made a box card at Simon Says Create last year! Bought the Lawn Fawn box die there – can’t believe that I haven’t got round to using it until now!

Anyway, I wish I could say that I used all my cat stamps when making this card, but I can’t! I seem to have amassed a fair collection over the years! The cat stamps here are from a Lawn Fawn set, a brand new My Favorite Things set that I only got yesterday and then my old favourite kitty stamp from MFT, pride of place in the front! The sentiment stamp is from Avery Elle.

I also decorated the two side flaps! So much fun!

I’m going to enter this into the current Lawn Fawnatics challenge (fun with dies). I have used products from a couple of other manufacturers, but Lawn Fawn dies/stamps feature prominently, so hopefully this is OK for the challenge!
