Hello everyone!

Today, I’m playing along with the current colour challenge over at CAS Colours and Sketches.

I started by stencilling some Pumice Stone distress ink to my base card using a Tim Holtz stencil. Then I stamped an older Penny Black cling stamp (All you need…) and added a Penny Black sentiment. I still wanted to add a bit more blue to my card so I used a Penny Black butterfly die and added a few of the tiny hearts from the butterfly to embellish my card. And I couldn’t resist adding a few dots of Stickles for a bit of sparkle!

I’m also entering this into the Penny Black Saturday Challenge where the theme is ‘anything goes’ with an optional twist of CAS. I think this card covers both of those!

Let’s be merry, deer!

Hi friends!

I’m just popping it to share a very quick card I made for the CAS Christmas Card challenge where the theme is ‘deer’. I have so many deer dies/stamps that I could have played along with this challenge multiple times. Alas, March is pretty chaotic for me so I only had time for this super quick make.

I used an older embossing folder to emboss my deer onto the card base. I added a pair of eyes and a glittery red nose before stamping a Hero Arts sentiment. To finish off the card, I added a bit of chunky glitter.

Super quick and simple! Would be good for mass-produced cards so I may produce a version of this for the next Caring Hearts Card Drive.

Welcome Spring

Hello everyone!

It’s time for a new challenge over at AAA Cards and this fortnight we have a very straightforward challenge!!

We’d like you to use just one image only (if you want to add a sentiment, that is fine too). The optional twist is ‘spring’ and our sponsor is Craftyscrappers.

I was placing an order with The Ton recently and I was aghast to realise that I had never used the gorgeous cherry blossom stamp set that I bought from them a couple of years ago. So, as soon as I saw the optional twist, I knew I had to use it!

I stamped and coloured the image using my Twinkling H2O paints and added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp to finish off my card.

My teammates have created some beautiful designs over at AAA Cards and this fortnight our guest designer is Aleksa who has a beautiful Instagram feed.

Sending Well Wishes

Happy Saturday!

So, I had only intended to buy a background stamp and a background die from the new Hero Arts release… until I saw the beautiful card that Janette Kausen created with the Agapanthus set! I knew I had to have it!

I’m so glad I snapped it up! It is gorgeous in real life – very versatile!

I decided to create a simple get well soon card with one of the larger images and a sentiment from the set. I coloured the flowers using my Twinkling H2Os and added a few drops of silver stickles to the ends of the stemen.

I stamped the sentiment in wilted violet distress oxide and added some purple Nuvo glitter drops…. but it didn’t feel ‘enough’. I felt the card needed a bit more purple! So I blended some more wilted violet distress oxide on both sides of a base card, trimmed down my panel and adhered it to my base card! Et voila! A little more purple which doesn’t detract from the main image!

You are amazing

Hello everyone!

I am back with my first Crafts-U-Love DT card for March! I always love receiving my DT package as it’s fun to see what the team has picked for me to play with! This month I received the Spectacular Birthday stamps from My Favorite Things* and the Tea Party ink cube set from Lawn Fawn*. I don’t have many Lawn Fawn inks, so I was really looking forward to trying those out!

I must confess that I had to put my thinking cap on as soon as I saw the stamp set – I don’t really do cutesy and I have never been to a circus, so I knew I needed to think of another way of using the sweet images!

As you can see, for my first card this month, I decided to use the little bear as an accent on a Thank You card. I fussy cut the stamped image and coloured him in using watercolours. Then I cut some white glitter cardstock using a Creative Expressions die which I stacked on two layers of regular cardstock to add some depth to the die cut.

I then softly blended three colours from the Lawn Fawn inks set. They blend beautifully! I used a mini blending tool and a very light hand to build intensity slowly.

I stamped the supporting sentiment (also from the set) and then adhered the die cut sentiment and some stars that I had cut from the glitter card. Finally I adhered the little bear using sticky fixers.
