Technique – ink blending

Featuring ink blending

Oxide Butterflies

Hi everyone!

I was super excited that both Seedless Preserves and Abandoned Coral were included in the latest Distress Oxide ink release! I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them and play! They are absolutely gorgeous!

Anyway, for this card, I included some Broken China oxide ink as well to create a background which I spritzed lightly with perfect pearls to add a bit of shimmer.

I used some glitter paper to cut  out a fabulous background die from Memory Box and adhered it on top of my distressed panel.

To finish off the card, I used a sentiment from My Favorite Things.

Hi everyone!

It’s sketch week over at the Less is More challenge, and here is my entry! I used the colour combo from this week’s Colour Throwdown challenge (orange, green and brown) for the image and also the background. I stuck some glitter paper behind each of the owls so their eyes and wings sparkle a bit!

The owl die cut is one of my favourites – it’s by Cottage Cutz – and I added a My Favourite Things  sentiment to complete my entry for both challenges!

Stencilled birthday greetings

Hi everyone!

I’m loving the sketch for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge – here is my take using a fabulous Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous stencil and distress inks. And can I say how happy I am that one of my favourite distress colours that I used here (abandoned coral) is being release as a Distress Oxide ink today! Yay!

I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp and some Pretty Pink Posh sequins to finish it all off.

As I used a stencil, I’m also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge (‘Stunning Stencilling’) and the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge (Stencil It).

New Home

Hi there!

For today’s card, I used an older stamp which I bought from a local craft shop in London many years ago. I used distress inks for the background and then coloured the image with my twinkling H2o’s.

I toyed with adding some bling to this card, but in the end I decided against it (for once!).

I’m entering this into the current Color Throwdown Challenge (purple, mint green, hot pink and teal) and also the Casology challenge (house).

Gorgeous dresses

Hi there

I used one of my oldest Hero Arts stamps today together with some gold embossing powder and also my new golden peach embossing powder from Altenew – it is fabulous! I fussy cut the images and them mounted them on a distress ink background. I added a sentiment from Clearly Besotted to finish off my card.

I’m entering this card into three challenges – Retro Rubber challenge (anything goes), Casology challenge (clothes) and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge (emboss it).

The dress stamp is one of the oldest in my collection. It doesn’t have a date on it but I think it is at least 8 years old.

Glitzy Happy Birthday

Hi Everyone!

I turned to my sadly-neglected distress stains for today’s card and used them to create a soft background. I then used Cosmic Shimmer Paste and a Simon Says Stamp stencil to add the sparkle.

When the paste was dry, I added a simple sentiment from My Sentiments Exactly, which I’ve had for years and years!

Today’s card is for threechallenges – the Case this Sketch challenge,  the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge (Birthday Bash) and also the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge (Touchy Feely).

Thanks for stopping by!
