Technique – die cutting

Featuring die cutting

Spring Bouquet and liquid watercolours

Hi everyone!

I was able to play with the Avery Elle liquid watercolours today. I only got a couple to try but I will be getting more!

For this card, I used Avery Elle Stamps and dies from My Favorite Things.

Looking at it now, I wonder if I should have used grey cardstock as a base, rather than kraft…. Hmmm. What do you think?

Love You

Happy Friyay everyone!

Ah… embossing folders. I love them. I can’t stop buying them. I just don’t use them enough! So one of my crafty goals this year is to use all of my embossing folders – even my old cuttlebug ones!

I used a relatively new addition to my embossing folder mountain – a heart embossing folder from Carabelle Studio. I created the background using ink from My Favorite Things and then swiped some Altenew grey ink over the raised image.

The sentiment and banner dies are from Simon Says Stamp. I embossed the ‘love’ die cut with clear embossing powder a couple of time – love that glossy effect!

I’m entering this into the current Color Throwdown challenge (red, pink, grey), the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge (love is in the air), Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge (it must be love) and the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge (love/hearts).

You have a heart of gold

Hello everyone!

Busy week this week, with limited craft time, but I did find a little time tonight to play with this beautiful ribbon heart die from Poppystamps. Super simple card – just a die cut and a stamped/embossed sentiment from My Favorite Things. This wasn’t ANYTHING like I’d originally planned for this die, but I like the simplicity of this card. Think I’ll be playing more with this die before Valentines!

I’m entering this into the current Poppystamps challenge – ‘My Heart’.

Wonderful Friend

Hi there!

So today’s card is a bit different for me – I broke into my vast supply of Prima paper flowers that I’ve had for MANY years! They are so pretty, but not very ‘trendy’ at the moment. Maybe they’ll make a comeback at some point?

Anyway, I created this card using the sketch for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Unfortunately, I am posting this too late to submit it, but I still wanted to share it here as I am also entering it into the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge, which had a theme of ‘friendship’.

The dies and stamp are by Simon Says Stamp and the embossing folder is from Spellbinders.

I thank the stars

Hello everyone!

As my distress oxides have been out this weekend, I decided to put them to use for my entry into this week’s Colour Throwdown challenge. It’s another great combo (aqua, orange and grey) and I decided to use the sketch for the current Case This Sketch challenge as well.

I used the dies and a stamp from My Favorite Things, but the white background felt a little stark when I started layering the stars. That’s an unusual thing for me to say really as CAS is usually my go to/comfort zone! In the end, I decided to  use a Hero Arts stencil to add a little interest!

Belated birthday wishes to you

Happy Saturday everyone!

My new distress oxide inks arrived this morning and I have spent the day happily playing with them.

Here’s the first card I made using a die by Memory Box, a stencil by Studio Light and a sentiment from Winnie & Walter.

I’m entering this into the current Casology challenge where the theme is ‘late’.
