Technique – die cutting

Featuring die cutting

Best wishes to you

Hello everyone!

Today, I’m playing along with the current colour challenge over at CAS Colours and Sketches.

I started by stencilling some Pumice Stone distress ink to my base card using a Tim Holtz stencil. Then I stamped an older Penny Black cling stamp (All you need…) and added a Penny Black sentiment. I still wanted to add a bit more blue to my card so I used a Penny Black butterfly die and added a few of the tiny hearts from the butterfly to embellish my card. And I couldn’t resist adding a few dots of Stickles for a bit of sparkle!

I’m also entering this into the Penny Black Saturday Challenge where the theme is ‘anything goes’ with an optional twist of CAS. I think this card covers both of those!

Butterfly birthday wishes

Hi everyone!

Today I’m sharing the super quick card I made for the current Freshly Made sketches challenge.

I created a stencil using a Reverse Confetti die and then blended some Distress Oxide ink over the base card.

I then used Impression Obsession butterfly dies to cut a background panel that I created sometime ago using more Distress Oxide inks.

To finish off my quick card, I stamped a Clearly Besotted sentiment – and resisted the urge to cover the card in bling!!

I’m also entering this into the current Time Out challenge where the theme is ‘birthday wishes’.

Whittle Rabbit

Happy Saturday!

I love the Poppystamps ‘whittle’ series – super cute dies with a really good price point! So I was so pleased when I saw the latest spring/Easter release when I was at Simon Says Create last weekend.

The Whittle Rabbit went into my basket straight away… along with a few other dies of course!

For today’s card, I paired the rabbit with the new Tulip Collage die from Simon Says Stamp and also added a grass die cut from Lawn Fawn and a butterfly die also from SSS.

I’m entering this into the current Color Throwdown challenge (red, yellow, light green and white), the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge (cute) and the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge (spring).

Deco Diamonds

Hello everyone!

Today I’m sharing a card I made using the fabulous Deco Diamonds background stamp from Simon Says Stamp.

I embossed the image using gold embossing powder and then added some Ken Oliver Color Bursts and Nuvo shimmer powder. I left it to dry naturally as I didn’t want to ‘over cook’ my gold embossing. I was very pleased when I saw how sparkly it turned out!

To finish off the card, I added a sentiment and star die cuts, all by Simon Says Stamp.

Botanical Branch

Hi there!

I’m trying to add to my birthday card pile as it always seems to run low!

I created a lot of distress oxide backgrounds a while ago and today I decided to used one of them with the fabulous Pinkfresh Studios Botanical Branch die. I liked the negative so much that I created a second card with silver pearl cardstock.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.

Frangia Bouquet

Good morning friends!

Today I’m playing along with the March Memory Box challenge where the theme is ‘flower power’.

I pulled out one of my older dies – the Frangia Bouquet from 2013 which I coloured using blended distress inks.

I stencilled some glitter paste on my base card and adhered the die cut once the glitter was dry. The embossed sentiment is by Clearly Besotted.
