Daisy and dots

Hello everyone!

As soon as I saw the sketch for the current CAS Colours & Sketches challenge, I thought of an older Memory Box die which I hadn’t used for quite a while – the Bubble Burst die. When I pulled it out, I was actually surprised to see that the date on the packaging was 2017 – I had thought it was a little older than that!

Anyway, I used the die to cut a white panel and then used Distress Oxide inks (Tumbled Glass, Cracked Pistachio and Shaded Lilac) to create a blended background. I cut a strip of the blended background and adhered it to my card base before adhering the white panel on top. I then die cut a circle and the sentiment from the unused section of the blended background and adhered them to my card. Finally, I die cut my newest Memory Box die (Daisy Silhouette) three times. I coloured one stem and then stuck the die cuts together. Originally I had planned to cut off the long stem but I liked how it aligned with the lines created by the Bubble Burst die so I didn’t!

I added some sparkle to the daisy with a Nuvo glitter gloss pen – it’s quite shimmery in real life, but so difficult to capture on my camera…

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Wow – it’s like the sketch and the die were made for each other! I love the softly blended colors peeking out from the apertures and as the background behind the pretty blossom. You’ve created an amazing card and I’m so glad you shared it with us at CC&S! 🙂
