Technique – die cutting

Featuring die cutting

Bold Floating Butterflies

Happy Friyay Everyone!

The theme of the Memory Box / Outside the Box challenge is ‘pretty purples’ and I decided to focus on purple butterflies. I created a inky background panel using some Ken Oliver Metallic Colour Bursts and some Cosmic Shimmer powder. Once dry, I cut it with the Floating Butterflies background die and adhered the Floating Butterflies frame die on top. I then stuck the Beautiful Jasper Leave die to my card base and used sticky fixers for the butterfly panel. I then added a silver Impress Card & Crafts die cut sentiment. I felt the card still needed a little bit more, so I cut out two of the smallest Memory Box Pinpoint Butterfly Trio dies to finish it off.

Restful Hello

Happy Monday everyone!

Today I’m playing along with two challenges – the Color Throwdown and Freshly Made Sketches.

I actually got off to a bit of a false start with this card – and somewhere on my craft table I have a lovely gold embossed background…. which ended up not working in the way I had wanted… Hopefully I can include it in a card soon… I have so many rejected backgrounds that I really need to start using!

Anyway, for my second and final attempt at both challenges, I used the beautiful Ready to Bloom cover die by The Stamp Market, together with a Winnie & Walter sentiment die and a Penny Black butterfly die.

Full Vase

Hi Everyone!

Today I used the colours from this week’s CAS Colours & Sketches challenge. The dies are by Simply Graphic and Poppy Stamps and the stencil is by Honey Bee.

I spent far too long trying different sentiments, stamped in different colours but finally ended up using this small Karen Burniston die cut!

Simply Just for you

Hi everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I had such fun with this CAS sketch! I used an image from the Pinkfresh Studio Fleur 1 set which I coloured using my Twinkling H2Os. I then die cut a glitter strip, together with a heart strip using a Sugar Pea Designs die.

I added a sentiment from Pretty Pink Posh to complete my card.

Sending Love and Hearts

Hello again everyone!

Today I’m playing along with two challenges with this card today – the Card Concept challenge and the Poppystamps challenge where the theme is hearts.

I was inspired by the colours in the Card Concept’s inspiration photo so decided to use pink and browns for my card. I went for the Clean and Layered design, using lots of die cut layers but also keeping the card quite clean with a good amount of white space. I used dies by Poppystamps (Francesca Heart and the Whittle Birds), Honey Bee Stamps (Heart Vine) and The Greetery (wood Slices). The sentiment is by Sugar Pea Designs.

Valentine Collage

Hello again everyone!

I’m back and playing along with a few challenges with this card today – I used the sketch from the Global Design Project challenge and was inspired by the inspiration photo at the Time Out Challenge. I’m also linking this up to the Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge where the theme is ‘love is in the air’.

I used some of my My Mind’s Eye patterned paper mountain for the centre strip and adhered a heart die from Impression Obsession. I was really drawn to the green pops of colour in the Time Out inspiration photo and so I incorporated that into my card by cutting some foliage and it adhering it behind some very old Simon Says Stamp/Kelly Purkey die cut hearts. Finally I added a sentiment by Hero Arts. They’ve actually just released a clear set with this sentiment/font but I went old school and dug out my wood mounted stamp!
