Birthday circles

Hi there!

It’s been a while since I played with this cool Simon Says Stamp background stamp and I was also wanting to play with my distress markers again… so I sat down at my table… et voila! Another birthday card for my depleted stocks!

I heat embossed the background stamp with white embossing powder and then added the colour. I started smooshing at first but then I decided I wanted more control over the colouring and applied the watered-down marker colour using my brush… and a finger!!

I cut the panel down and added a glittery new-to me sentiment, also from SSS.

I’m entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge (ink blending).

You totally did it

Hi everyone!

It’s been quite cloudy here so I decided to pull out some sunny Distress Oxide inks to play with today.

After creating the blended background, I added some water speckles and then die cut a Simon Says Stamp circle and sentiment. I used another scrap of card to blend some yellow ink for the fringe (cut using a Mama Elephant die).

The embossed sentiment is by My Favourite Things.

I’m entering this into the current Case This Sketch challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge (ink blending).

Easter Egg Wreath

Happy Easter to all of you who celebrate this day!

As I’ve mentioned before, I love Easter crafty supplies – it’s just a shame that the Easter crafty season is so short! I’m happy to say that I sent out all the Easter cards I made this year!

Today, I’m sharing one more Easter card – this is the one I made for my mum using a sweet Nellie Snellen wreath stamp and a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp. I coloured it with my Twinkling H2Os and then added a few Studio Katia gems to finish it off!

I’m entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (anything goes) and the Just us Girls challenge (CAS cards).

Newton’s Easter fun

Hello everyone!

Although I try not to buy Easter sets, every year, a few break my resolve. This year, I couldn’t resists the Newton’s Nook Newton’s Easter set. Isn’t it cutte!

I used my twinkling H2Os to colour the image and then applied some distress ink – using a heart stencil from Simon Says Stamp. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.

Hoppy Easter, peeps

Hello there everyone!

Here’s a quick card I made for the current Case This Sketch challenge using a couple of stamps from Simon Says Stamp.

I stamped and embossed the background stamp and then blended three shades of distress ink over it (I used dried marigold, spun sugar and tattered rose).

Following the sketch, I cut up the background into a number of strips and adhered them to my base card.

To finish off the card, I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp – it’s stamped with delicata gold ink. Can you see that beautiful shimmer?

I’m also entering this into the current Colour Throwdown challenge (blush, pink and peach) and the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge (springtime/Easter).

Easter Smiles

Hi there!

Every year, I always feel that I don’t spend enough time using my Easter supplies. I don’t have THAT much, and I try to be quite disciplined with Easter-themed purchases, but I still feel a lot of pretty stamps and dies are far too neglected.

For today’s card, I could not resist inking up one of my favourite Easter Stamps, purchased many years ago from Stamping Bella. Isn’t it cute? I coloured it with my Twinkling H2Os and added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp. To add a bit of interest to the background, I lightly stamped  a My Favorite Things background stamp with distress ink before colouring in the main image.

I’m going to enter this into the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (Anything Goes).
