Wonderful Friend

Hi everyone and Happy Saturday!

I decided to get my Avery Elle liquid watercolours out today as it’s been quite a while since I used them.

I embossed the Simon Says Stamp Mod Flowers background stamp using Hero Arts satin pearl powder and then applied a light gold paint wash across the whole background before colouring in the image. I used two coats of each colour, although I diluted the red a lot. This is so shimmery in real life!

When the panel was dry, I cut it in half (yep, expect to see a card with the other half one day!!) and adhered it to my base card. I added a die and stamped sentiment also by Simon Says Stamp to finish off the card.

I’m entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge (colour it) and also the Flower Challenge where I have chosen Challenge No. 11 – focus on background stamping.

I made a card!

Happy Saturday everyone!

Life got busy and I took an unintended break from crafting/blogging over the past few weeks. I’m gradually getting back into it – and Kathy Racoosin’s Daily Marker challenge is certainly inspiring me to sit down at my craft table and colour!

I coloured this sweet bouquet from Simon Says Stamp with PrismaColor pencils yesterday (Day 1) and turned it into a card today. It felt soooo good!

I used a Hero Arts background stamp and an older sentiment also by Hero Arts.

I’m entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge – anything goes.

Stencilled birthday

Happy Friyay everyone!

Simon Says Stamp is hosting quite a few stencil challenges this week so I decided it was time to open up the Simon Says Stamp ‘Hope Blooms’ stencil!

I used regular distress inks to create the flowery background and then used a stamp from a flower set to create the centres. I didn’t want to overpower the delicate flowers with stencilled leaves, so I used a stencil from the Bokeh set to add a spotted background.

To finish off the card,I added a die cut greeting, also from Simon Says Stamp.

I’m entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge, Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge (all three themes ‘Stencil It’) and the Color Throwdown Challenge (aqua, lime green and white)

Dainty Whispers

Happy Friyay everyone!

I’ve been practicing my no-lines colouring with my twinkling H2Os and a gorgeous Penny Black stamp today.

I stamped the image with Antique Linen Distress Ink before painting it – love the shimmer!

To finish off the card, I added a sentiment die from Simon Says Stamp and a few gems.

Cattail Triptych

Hi everyone!

Why is it that when you’re super busy, you have tons of ideas, but when you finally have time to craft, your mojo disappears? So annoying!

This took much longer to create than it should have done… hope my mojo returns soon!

I used dies by Simon Says Stamp, Savvy Stamps and Memory Box and adhered the die cut panel to a background I created using Distress Inks and Color Bursts.

I’m entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge – ‘animal kingdom’.

I can always count on you

Hi everyone!

I’ve had a crazy busy week with no time to get into my craft room, not even when my Simon Says Stamp order showed up!

I had a bit of time this evening and here’s what I came up with using my brand new Flickering Butterflies die from Simon Says Stamp. I confess I had a little buyer’s remorse about getting this instead of a different die in the collection, but as soon as I saw it in real life, I was so happy I got it!

I added a couple of layers of white cardstock to the back of the die cut piece and then adhered a panel I made with my neglected Distress Stains. I used card instead of foam as I didn’t want to raise the panel too much – It has made the card quite heavy – may be one to send in the UK rather than overseas!

The Thanks die is also by SSS and the sentiment stamp is from Reverse Confetti.

I’m entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge (anything goes).
