Sweet Strawberries

Happy Saturday!

Today’s card is inspired by two challenges – the Casology challenge (cue word – juicy) and the Retro Rubber challenge (a summery photo inspiration).

I pulled out one of my older Magenta stamps, which I think I’ve had for about 3 years, maybe more…. but which I’m ashamed to say, I have never used! I’ve said it before, and I know I will be saying it again in future, but I am so grateful I found the Retro Rubber blog – it really inspires me to use my oft-neglected wooden stamp collection.

Anyway, I coloured the image using my Twinkling H20s and added some stickles to the flower. I cut out a square from some white card using a die by My Favorite Things and added a sentiment by Altenew (seriously, it took me longer to choose the sentiment than make this card! Couldn’t decide between punny eg ‘I’m berry sorry’ or more serious!).

I added the white card on top of my base card using funky foam for dimension.

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

A Note of Thanks

Hi everyone

For today’s card, I used the current sketch from the CASE This Sketch challenge blog as my inspiration. I stamped a piece of kraft card with a background stamp from My Favorite Things using Versamark. I then added some strips that I had cut using a My Favorite Things die. Finally I added a Winnie and Walter sentiment onto the die cut strip. This was a small deviation from the sketch – I tried the sentiment above the strip and it just didn’t look right to me….

Anyway, I’m also entering this into the current Color Throwdown challenge – green, kraft and white.

Thanks for stopping by!

Grateful butterflies

Hi there!

There’s a fabulous sketch over at the My Favorite Things sketch challenge this week and here is my entry.

I used some gorgeous distress oxide inks together with dies and a stamp from My Favorite Things.

I love those distress oxide inks – they are amazing to work with and blend so nicely! Fabulous!

Thanks for looking!

Uncork and Unwind!

Happy Friyay!

It’s time to uncork and unwind! Yay!

There’s a sketch challenge at the Retro Rubber challenge blog and here’s my entry! I love how this challenge is making me revisit all my old wood-mounted rubber stamps. I’ve had this image for AGES. At least 8 years, I think! Where does time go? Anyway, there was no manufacturer on the stamp, just a code and luckily Google was able to tell me that this stamp is by Rubber Romance! It’s a great image to colour!

Anyway, I paired it with a very new (to me) Reverse Confetti sentiment and then used a My Favourite Things stencil to finish it off!

Thanks for looking!

Hi everyone!

It’s sketch week over at the Less is More challenge, and here is my entry! I used the colour combo from this week’s Colour Throwdown challenge (orange, green and brown) for the image and also the background. I stuck some glitter paper behind each of the owls so their eyes and wings sparkle a bit!

The owl die cut is one of my favourites – it’s by Cottage Cutz – and I added a My Favourite Things  sentiment to complete my entry for both challenges!

Thanks for looking!

You’re brilliant

Hi there!

Today’s card combines two challenges – the My Favorite Things sketch challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge (use patterned paper).

When I pulled out a 6×6 My Mind’s Eye paper pad from my paper mountain, I also challenged myself to use different paper colours as I mainly use the more muted papers in a pack.

I used dies and stamps from My Favorite Things and also a little bit of bling to finish it off!

Thanks for looking!
