AAA Cards -Seventh Birthday

Happy Sunday everyone!

It’s time for a new challenge over at AAA Cards and we are celebrating our seventh birthday with a blog hop and an emoji treasure hunt this fortnight!

All 12 of the design team members have an emoji hidden somewhere in their blog post. Simply find all the emojis and email a list of them to our lovely team admininstrator, Jane, at aaacardchallenge at gmail.com.

Our sponsors have been very generous and we have lots of prizes which can be won in a number of ways:

  • Create a card – make a CAS birthday card and link it over at our challenge post in the usual way
  • Enter our treasure hunt
  • Like, comment and follow us on social media (Instagram)
  • Visit each of the 12 design team members’ blogs and leave a comment

Here are the blog hop links:

Lucie – you are here!

For my CAS card, I used candle dies by Open Studio/Memory Box to cut an inky panel I made some time ago. I really like this set because it has separate flame dies to add on. The sentiment is by Sugar Pea Designs.

And for those of you looking… here is my chosen emoji!

My teammates have shared some gorgeous CAS cards on the AAA Cards blog – I do hope you can join in with all the fun this fortnight!

Memory Box Stems

Happy SaturdayEveryone!

The theme of the Memory Box / Outside the Box challenge is ‘paint’ which had me stumped for a while because I was thinking of distress and acrylic paints. Then I realised the theme would also cover watercolour paints as well! So I pulled out all my recent Memory Box stem (Wildeflower Stems, Daisy Stems and Seed Stems) and got to work with my watercolours. I smooshed and splattered some Speckled Egg and Frayed Burlap distress oxide ink on my card base and then adhered the stems. I added the Memory Box Jotted Script Hello die to finish it off.

Lavender bunch

Hello again everyone!

Today I’m playing along with two challenges with this card today – the Card Concept challenge.

I was inspired by the colours and the rustic feel of the Card Concept’s inspiration photo. I went for the Clean and Layered design, using lots of die cut layers but also keeping the card quite clean with a good amount of white space. I used dies by Mempry Box (Lavender Stems) and Poppystamps (Bow), and a background stamp by Impression Obsession. The sentiment is by Clearly Besotted.

Spring Vase

Hello friends!

I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown challenge which has another beautiful colour palette this week – blue, yellow, green and white. Perfect spring colours!

I just received my annual Stampin Up! order and was itching to use the Indigo Blue stamp and die set that I purchased! So happy I was able to use it right away! I also used an older flower die by Simon Says Stamp (Meadow Rue – from 2013!) and dies from Poppystamps and Simply Graphic. The sentiment is by Mama Elephant.

Dreamy Freesia

Hello friends!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown challenge which has another beautiful colour palette this week – pink, yellow, green and kraft. Perfect LucieG colours!

I created an ink-blended panel in the centre of my card using distress inks and then cut and coloured Memory Box’s Dreamy Freesia die. I really wanted the flower to take centre stage as freesias are very special to me, but felt the card needed a little something so I added a few vellum leaves cut from a Simply Graphic die.  The heat-embossed sentiment is also by Memory Box.
