Heart Week 2026 – Day 4

Hi there!

Welcome to Day 4 of Heart Week 2026!

You know what I’ve neglected for far too long? The original stencils! I bought quite a few back in the day but my attention shifted and although they are extremely organised, I rarely reach for them nowadays. While I was looking for a stencil for my card idea, I found this beautiful Funky Fossil stencil! I’m pretty sure I’ve used it before but I haven’t found a card photo. In any case, I know I haven’t used it since I’ve been using blending brushes which are quite honestly a gamechanger for these sorts of stencils.

So I put my original idea to the back of my mind, pulled out a colour combo, matched up my inks and got colouring!

I didn’t need much to complete my card – I don’t want to pull attention away from those butterflies! So I added a simple Sugar Pea Designs sentiment and a few gems and called it a day!

AAA Cards Made in Minutes with a stencil

Hi there!

It’s time for another challenge at AAA Cards!  This fortnight we’d like you to create a CAS card in ‘minutes’. Our optional twist this time is ‘use a stencil’. Funky Fossil is our sponsor.

Some of you may remember that this is my least favourite challenge theme – for me crafting is relaxing, not something I want to rush through. Mind you, I have to confess that this time, I did actually make the card in minutes!

I cut a piece of acetate with a Memory Box egg die to act as my base stencil/mask and sponged on some Scattered Straw distress oxide ink. Then, without move the mask, I added my favourite Funky Fossil stencil (‘Shrubbery’) and blended some Tattered Rose/Spun Sugar distress oxide ink to create my patterned egg.

To complete my card, I added a Poppystamps sentiment and a few dots of gold Stickles.

My team mates have come up with some beautiful cards which are on the AAA Cards challenge blog. We are also joined a previous challenge winner, Sandie, who has some lovely inspiration on her blog!

Hope you can play along with us!

Sparkler Butterfly

Hi friends!

I am back with my entry into the current CAS on Friday challenge which has the theme of butterfly.

I used the Birch Press Design Sparkler Butterfly Layer Set with coloured cardstock. The base layer is standard white card, but I wanted the bottom layer to sparkle so I die cut the second layer from white glitter card as well and inlaid the little centre pieces before adhering the final two coloured layers.

While the butterfly is stunning by itself, I wanted to add a little soft detail to the background, while keeping the card CAS. I softly applied some distress oxide ink through the fabulous Shrubbery stencil from Funky Fossil Designs.

I stamped a sentiment from My Favorite Things to finish off my card.
