Happy Saturday friends!

Today’s playing along with two of my favourite challenges – the Color Throwdown and the Memory Box monthly challenge.

The Color Throwdown’s palette this week is navy, grey and green and when I saw it, I knew I wanted to incorporate flowers or foliage in someway. In the end, I decided to use one of the very first dies my mum bought – the Memory Box Serafina Heart die. She’s been taking a break from crafting for a while and I’m ‘looking after’ some of her craft supplies until she gets back into it!

I added the die cut to a navy heart, also by Memory Box and added a few pearls for the flower centres. I then embossed a Hero Arts sentiment on a grey background panel before lightly stamping a My Favorite Things background stamp using versamark ink.

I stuck the heart to the base card with funky foam and added a few more mini pearls to finish off my card.

Shining Heart of Gold

Happy Friyay everyone!

Today, I’m playing along with the latest Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge where the theme is ‘love’.

Perfect opportunity for my to use all those heart dies I have bought from SSS over the years. I decided to play with the Shining Heart die that I bought last year and used it across a background panel. I inlaid some hearts that I’d cut from a Ken Oliver Color Burst background I had created a while ago! I inlaid one heart cut from gold glitter cardstock and finally added a My Favorite Things sentiment.

Hearts confetti

Hello friends!

As I was flicking through my dies the other day, I was a bit shocked about the number of heart dies I have! So I grabbed one to use straight away for another entry into the Time Out challenge which has the theme ‘loving’.

I chose the Poppystamps Heart Confetti College die as my focal point in a panel I cut using a wonky stitch rectangle. I then adhered the panel to a background I’d created when I was playing with various distress oxide inks.

I added a simple glittery sentiment using a couple of Avery Elle dies and finished off my card with some trusty Nuvo glitter drops.

Black, white and brown…

Hello everyone!

Well there’s an interesting colour combo over at the Color Throwdown challenge this week – black, white and brown! Totally not my colours at all, and I spent quite a while mulling over what I could create with this combination. Of course, now that I’ve created my card, lots of other ideas have popped into my head!

Anyway, onto my card. I decided to pull out the Beautiful Day stamp set – one of my very first Altenew sets, which just doesn’t get enough use by yours truly, even though it is so gorgeous!

I stamped the flower layers using my new Altenew ‘Delectable Delights’ brown inks. I just love Altenew inks – super coverage and they make it so easy for layered stamping! I used all four inks for some flowers and I created a focal point white/brown flower by using the three lightest inks and the three more detailed stamps. I then die cut the Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves die from black pearlescent cardstock and assembled my card.

I added a simple die cut sentiment from Poppystamps and a few Nuvo glitter drops to finish off my card.

Luna sponged heart

Hello and Happy Saturday everyone!

Today, I’ve been trying out a new technique – applying Cosmic Shimmer luna paste with a sponge. I would never have thought of it, but I saw Simon Hurley’s video about sponging glitter paste (via the new CAS Stencil challenge blog) and thought I’d give it a whirl with luna paste.

I used the Mosaic Heart stencil by Simon Says Stamp and I love how it turned out – the coverage is much thinner than applying it with a palette knife, but it’s still so shimmery in real life!

I was originally planning to cut part of the stencilled heart off to create my CAS card (the heart is really quite large!), but I couldn’t quite bring myself to do so! Instead, I cut around it so that part of the image hangs off the edge, preserving the beautiful heart!

To finish off the card, I added a die cut sentiment also by Simon Says Stamp.

Heart stems

Hello friends!

I am so honoured to be the Guest Designer over at the Case This Sketch challenge this week.

There’s a fabulous new sketch to play with – I had a lot of fun coming up with my card!

I cut four thin strips of cardstock to create an ombre-effect base. I then cut the Impression Obsession heart stems and added four of them to my card. Finally I added a sentiment from Clearly Besotted to finish off my take on the sketch.

I can’t wait to see what everyone else comes up with!
