Christmas, New Year and Winter

Day 17 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hi there!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year.

Jillybean Soup was the sponsor for Day 17. I LOVE Jillybean papers! They are so cute… I MAY have quite a few in my craft room! I thought Kristine Davidson’s tag with a tree made from rolls of paper was absolutely wonderful PLUS it would be a great opportunity for me to use some of my paper mountain!

I rolled some papers around a pencil and stuck them individually before creating the tree design. I added a glittered star and trunk to finish it off. I cut a tag from some patterned paper but when I placed the tree on top, I felt that the paper was far too dark for the tree, especially the trunk. To lighten it a little, I sponged on some Picket Fence distress ink – I was very happy with the how it softened the colour!

Day 16 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hi there!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year.

The sponsor for Day 16 was Ellen Hutson. I have some wonderful Essential by Ellen stamps and dies and so it was quite difficult to decide what to use for today’s tag! I really like the set of tags that Lindsey M-P created for the challenge and got to work on my take!

I loved how Lindsey used a stencil for the background to one of her tags and so I stencilled a brick base onto my tag before adding the die cut Ellen Hutson tree!

Now, confession time! When I stamped the greeting, it wasn’t quite centred… I was so concerned that it was straight, I completely forget to centre it! To balance it out a little I added a few die cut starbursts to the background – I think they work ok!

Day 15 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hi there!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year.

The sponsor for Day 15 was Amuse: Christmas Visions. There was so much inspiration from the DT, but Tracey’s tag really stood out to me and so I just HAD to CASE it, using regular distress ink and stamps from Avery Elle and Simon Says Stamp.

Naughty, nice or purrfect?

Hi there!

The theme for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is ‘furry friends’ – perfect opportunity for me to ink up a new Newton’s Nook Designs set that I treated myself to last week!

I coloured the image using my Twinkling H2O paints and then fussy cut it as I don’t have the coordinating dies. After embossing the sentiment onto a strip of cardstock, I felt that the card still needed a little something extra. So I used a stencil to add a subtle background – I love this technique as I think it really helps to ‘anchor’ an image.

I’m also entering this into the current CAS Mix It Up challenge where the theme is stamping, glitter and own choice (stencilling).

Day 14 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hi there!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year.

The sponsor for Day 14 was Concord & 9th – another company I love! They always seem to come out with the most innovative products! Unfortunately, I only appear to have one Christmas set, but it contains a fabulous tree and some wonderful bold sentiments.

I loved Tenia Nelson’s tag – especially the background. I’m not sure how she created it, but I decided to make something similar using my Distress Stains. After stamping the sentiment and the tree, I added some white chalk paint and glitter for the snow.

Day 13 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hi there!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year.

I was so pleased to see that the Day 13 sponsor was Neat & Tangled. They released one of my favourite stamps this season – Fa La Llama. It is so cute! I loved Brianna Loefflebein’s take and used her tag as my inspiration.

I created the background using the small snowflake stamp in the set. I may have gone a little overboard, but that Delicata Cosmic Copper shimmer ink is so fabulous! I’ve tried to capture it a bit in my photo… it is so shimmery in real life!

Thanks for stopping by!
