Quirky Christmas Trees

Hi there everyone!

Today I’m sharing my entry for the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I used the fabulous Quirky Trees from Avery Elle and a few of my new distress oxide inks (Victorian Velvet, Shabby Shutters and Pumice Stone).

This card actually came together really quickly and is one of those rare cards that falls into the ‘less than 20 minutes’ category!

Feel the joy of the season

Hello everyone!

Today I have a card I made using one of my favourite Penny Black dies and the Simon Says Stamp/Gina K Stamptember stamp set.

I started playing with my new distress oxide inks and the row of fir trees stamp and never really intended to use it for a card… but I really liked how it turned out….

So I simply trimmed down the panel and added some snow using Tim Holtz/Ranger Grit paste, which I hoped would stay an opaque white, but the colour of the ink is starting to discolour it a little I think…

Anyway, I then added the fabulous Penny Black snowman and a sentiment from the set and hey presto, a card from my practice stamping!!

I’m linking this up to the Penny Black Holiday challenge.

Have a great Sunday, all!

Joyful Wishes

So today I have been playing with my new goodies and made a card for the current Color Throwdown challenge which has a palette of green, kraft and white.

I used a background stamp and sentiment die from Simon Says Stamp together with a cute deer from Poppystamps’ ‘Whittle’ series. Isn’t he cute?

I’m also entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge where the theme is ‘animal kingdom’ and the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge (‘anything goes’).

Stamptember fun!

HI there!

So.. September was a crazy month and I didn’t have much time for crafting, not even when my Stamptember products arrived from Simon Says Stamp! Pretty disappointing!

I’ve finally had time to sit down at my craft table and guess what… my mojo had gone AWOL. So annoying!

Anyway, I EVENTUALLY made a card with the SSS Festive Trees set. I loved this set and this particular stamp when I saw it in August sneak peaks! There are four trees which are fun to colour.

I coloured this tree with Hero Arts metallic paint which was diluted with a bit of water. It is soooo shimmery in real life!

I used a SSS stencil for the background and added a sentiment from My Sentiments Exactly to finish off my card.

I’m entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge – Christmas.

Merry Snowdrifts

Good morning!

I’m back again this morning with my second Crafts-U-Love DT card. Links to the supplies I used are at the end of my post.

I was delighted to receive a couple of John Next Door dies in my package this month and used them again this week to create a quick Christmas card.

I created the background using some distress oxide inks and then added the die cut images to the base of the card.

To finish off my card, I added a sentiment by John Next Door.

Thanks for stopping by!

Rubber Stamp Tapestry wreath

Hello again!

This is my third and final card from yesterday’s crafting session. All the cards I made yesterday have the same theme (‘wreath’) for this month’s CAS Christmas challenge. As I can’t work out how to use the same link for my three different entries, I’ve decided to do three separate posts – one for each entry.

For my final entry, I dusted down a couple of old Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamp sets to create my wreath. I used distress oxide inks – love how these stamp so nicely but unfortunately I underestimated the drying time and smudged part of my wreath! Argh! Luckily I was able to save the card with a large die cut from Concord & 9th. Phew!
