Christmas in July – Day 16

Hi Everyone

I’m posting my Day 16 Christmas in July card a little earlier as I want to enter it into this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge which has a palette of pink, gold. black and white. I chose a fun Bubble Tree die by Poppystamps which I cut three times from different card.

Although I was originally planning to just make one card, I used the rest of the die cuts to create two more cards – I thought I’d add them to the donate pile for this year’s Caring Hearts card drive.

Christmas in July – Day 15

Hi Everyone

It’s Christmas in July Day 15 and I finally got to play with my gorgeous festive dies! I chose a fun snowflake die from Simon Says Stamp and a embossing plate from Ellen Hutson for my take on the latest Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I was originally intending to simply add the snowflake die to the centre of the card, but decided to make a shaker at the last minute!

Happy Sunday!

Christmas in July Day 14 and the final Day of the 30 day colouring challenge!

For today’s card, I used one of my favourite festive stamps – the wonderful Stampendous Kitty Claws. I LOVE this stamp so much! My mum bought it first, over a decade or so ago, but I kept borrowing it, so I was very happy to pick one up for myself about five years ago! The sentiment is by Sugar Pea Designs.

For today’s card, I used the sweet Hero Arts Holiday Giraffe stamp from 2007 which I fussy cut and adhered to a base of blended Tumbled Glass/Stormy Sky distress ink. The sentiment is by Winnie & Walter.

Happy Friyay everyone!

Christmas in July Day 12 (Day 28 of the colouring challenge)!

Today’s card uses the sketch for the current Try Stampin’ on Tuesday challenge and another stamp by Magenta.

I played around with different ways of recreating that central strip – patterned paper, dry embossing, coloured card! In the end, I pulled our a Studio Katia stencil and applied a layer of distress ink and then glitter paste. I really wanted to ensure that the strip didn’t dominate the main image, so I’m pleased with how it turned out!

Hello everyone!

Christmas in July Day 11 (Day 27 of the colouring challenge)!

Today’s card uses the sketch for the current CAS Colours & Sketches challenge. The stamp is by Magenta and I used an older Ellen Hutson embossing plate to create the strips. After much dithering, I used an older Nestabilities die to cut the main image – it’s fun to use the seldom-used nesting dies again!
