Christmas, New Year and Winter

Merry Everything, Mama Elephant!

Hello friends!

Did you all see the amazing Mama Elephant release a few weeks ago? So many beautiful sets. I fell in love with the Pine and Posy set and snapped it up as soon as I could!

I’ve been wanting to ink it up ever since and know exactly what I wanted to try when I saw the beautiful colour palette from the Color Throwdown Challenge this week – cobalt blue, aqua, grey and black.

I coloured the image with my Twinkling H2Os and added a sentiment stamp and die, also by Mama Elephant.

Merry Whittle Penguins

Hi Everyone!

Today, I’m playing along with this week’s Case This Sketch challenge

I used my newest cute Christmas dies – the Whittle Penguins by Poppystamps, a background stamp and couple of dies from My Favorite Things and a Mama Elephant sentiment stamp. The Embossing Folder is by Taylored Expressions.

Seasonal Stag

Hello!

I’m here with my penultimate Crafts-U-Love DT post .

This month, I received a couple of products by Marianne Design, the Tiny’s Deer Family die set* and the Classic Label die* .

I started by cutting the label die and largest deer from white cardstock which I then coloured with various distress inks.

I adhered the deer to my tag base and stamped a sentiment from the Julie Hickey Designs Essential Christmas Sentiments set.

I then tried the tag against a white background, but felt the background needed a little added interest.

I toyed with doing some stencilling or dry embossing but in the end I decided to use some off-white paper by The Paper Boutique. The pack I used was sent to me for a past DT post; it’s no longer in stock at Crafts-U-Love, but the Christmas Visitor pack and the Happy Days pack have similar colours. After trimming the paper to size, I stamped a few little stars from another Julie Hickey Designs set.

To finish off the tag, I added some stiffened ribbon which I curled by twisting it around a paint brush before adhering the tag to my card base using foam pads.

Snowflake wishes

Hi Everyone!

Today, I’m playing along with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge

I had fun playing with products with a lot of different companies for my take – the large snowflake is by Bright Rosa whilst the smaller snowflakes are from My Favorite Things. I used a heart stencil from Simon Says stamp with a baby wipe to lift ink from the blended strip and stamped a sentiment from an older Penny Black set.

I’m also entering this into the current CAS Stencil challenge where the challenge is to use a baby wipe.

Seasonal village

Hello!

I’m here with my second Crafts-U-Love DT post for September.

This month, I received a couple of products by Studio Light, the Essentials Clear Stamp Set – No.393* and the A6 Paper Pad – No.121* plus the Eleganza Craft 4 mm Glitter Gems – Silver*  which I’ve used to create today’s card.

I started by stamping the main image three times in different colours of Distress Oxide ink and fussy cutting the little houses (super easy images to fussy cut!). I trimmed down a piece of the Studio Light paper so that the large star would be at the top of my card.

After trimming the bottom of the paper panel, I used a post-it note to sponge some distress ink across the foreground. Then I arranged all the little houses across the card.

Finally I added a sentiment from the Julie Hickey poinsettia set* and added some gems and then some Stickles over the ink blending.

Thanks for stopping by!

Santa’s sleigh

Hi Everyone!

Today, I’m playing along with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge where their 400th anniversary celebrations continue!

This week’s sketch was the one used for challenge number 200…. and it’s really minimalist! I decided to make another festive card, using a die I had forgotten – the Pine Tree Border from Poppystamps, dated 2011! Hard to believe that’s 8 years ago now! Anyway, I cut a panel of white card using the die and stamped a Clearly Besotted sentiment. I then masked off a circle on my card base and blended some distress inks to create a night sky. Maybe I should have gone a little darker, but let’s just imagine that the bright moon is making the sky seem blue, ok?!

I removed the masking paper and dabbed on a little watered-down distress ink to add some depth to the moon. I then stamped a Clearly Besotted Santa image over the moon. Finally I added my die-cut panel to my card base using some foam tape et voila, another Christmas card done! Yay!

Thank for stopping by!
