Birthday

Birthday Branch

Hi there!

So, today’s card was intended for the Time Out Birthday challenge but sadly I got the closing time wrong!

I used my fabulous new Waffle Flower Crafts Geometric Cover Plate on the card base and added some Stickles.

The branch is from Altenew’s Weekend Doodle set  and coloured with my Twinkling H2Os.

The sentiment is by Sugar Pea Designs .

Birthday Stars

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the CAS on Friday challenge where the theme is ‘male’.

I often use greens and blues for male cards, but today I decided to use a different colour palette and used an older Simon Says Stamp background die (called Stacked Stars) to cut a panel I’d created with Color Bursts.

I added a few extra die cut stars and a sentiment by Hero Arts to finish off my card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Deco delight

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the first Color Throwdown challenge of 2022 and it has such a super bold palette – black, gold or silver and white. Perfect for New Year’s cards, but I decided to go a different route – Art Deco !

I bought the Poppystamps Stepped Deco Frame before Christmas – I love the Art Deco sunrise/sunset design so I HAD to have this die when I saw it! I cut it twice – from gold and white cardstock and then did some inlaid die cutting! I added a sentiment from a Poppystamps set and a few gems from Lucy’s Little Things to complete my card.

Belated Birthday Circles

Hi there!

I’m getting pretty excited because it’ll soon be Christmas in July and I am so ready to make some festive cards! First of all this week though, I have my entry for the sketch challenge over at CAS Colours and Sketches.

I used the fabulous Floral Circle dies by Prinkfresh Studio together with a stamped Uniko sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cardmaking joy

Hi there!

As you’ve probably seen, I usually make cards for challenges, so I often have a starting point like a sketch or colour combo. Yesterday, I wanted to just play with my supplies. So I pulled out my Penny Black supplies and had so much fun!

I started with the bouquet from the Enliven mini stamp set (30-705) and coloured it with my Twinkling H2Os and Prisma pencils before fussy cutting around the image. That took AGES, but it was worth it. I decided to add some die cut foliage using dies from the Leaflets set (51-129), the Hanging Planters set (51-501) and the Autumn Decor set (51-653).

As I couldn’t see a piece of white card on my table at the time, I was using some black card to collect all my die cut images but I ended up really liking how the black card made the bouquet and die cuts pop! Quite dramatic! So I stepped outside my comfort zone and went with the black card base!

The sentiment is also from the Enliven mini set. I actually cut the stems so that they appear a little longer on my card – the sentiment hides that very nicely!

I REALLY enjoyed making this card. It was so much to to just PLAY and see where I ended up! Cardmaking brings me so much joy!

I decided to link this card up to a couple of challenges with a flower theme – Seize the Birthday (make it a bouquet) and Moving Along with the Times (a bouquet of flowers).

Here are the blog hop links:

Lucie – you are here!

For my CAS card, I used candle dies by Open Studio/Memory Box to cut an inky panel I made some time ago. I really like this set because it has separate flame dies to add on. The sentiment is by Sugar Pea Designs.

And for those of you looking… here is my chosen emoji!

My teammates have shared some gorgeous CAS cards on the AAA Cards blog – I do hope you can join in with all the fun this fortnight!

Thanks for stopping by!
