Colourful Tall Trees

Happy Friyay everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown! The palette this week is kraft, red, green and chartreuse.

I immediately thought of the chartreuse colour burst and knew I had to create a card using that! I created a few inky backgrounds and used the Tall Tree dies from the Stamp Market to cut a few trees. I LOVE this die and was stalking my UK retailer until the die went live on the site and snapped it up straightaway!

I added a few splashes of kraft paint at the tree bases and die cut some kraft stars and dots to add to the sky. The sentiment is stamped in Frayed Burlap distress oxide and is by Mama Elephant.

Multi coloured pumpkins

Hi everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the sketch challenge at the CAS Colours and Sketches challenge.

A few weeks ago, some amazing pumpkin shaped cookies popped up on my Instagram feed. The icing colours were fabulous so I saved the image, planning to use it at some point this autumn. When I saw the sketch challenge, I knew it was time to roll out those pumpkins and my distress inks! I used the Pumpkins and Gourds dies by Poppystamps. The sentiment is also by Poppystamps.

Monster Boo!

Hi there!

It’s been a while since I played along with a Case This Sketch challenge and so I decided to hop back into the challenge this week!

I used the brand new Whittle Monsters by Poppystamps. You see that little green monster? He is the whole reason I bought this die set! The set contains a cat as well, but I felt a ghost would be better in my scene here so I added one from my Whittle Ghost set. I created the background using distress oxide inks and a Hero Arts background stamp spritzed with water and the wooded frame is by Memory Box.

Blue and Beige Vase

Hi everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the colour challenge at the CAS Colours and Sketches challenge.

I used a Taylored Expressions stencil for the oval and added die cuts by Simply Graphic and Altenew. The Altenew vase is cut from a piece of my beloved Basic Grey paper! The sentiment is from a very versatile Mama Elephant set.

You’re Brilliant!

Hi there!

It’s time for another challenge at AAA Cards!  This fortnight we’d like you to create a CAS card with as much white space as possible and if you want to join with our optional twist, please add some stars to your creation! Our sponsor is Uniko.

I have a LARGE collection of stars dies…. I think it took me longer to choose the dies to use than it did to create this CAS card! In the end, I selected this fun star branch die by Simply Graphic and a Spellbinders star die. The sentiment is from a My Favorite Things set – I really wanted to use the phrase ‘You’re a Star’, but oddly I only have two stamps with that phrase and neither worked for my design!

My team mates have come up with some beautiful cards which are on the AAA Cards challenge blog. We are also joined a previous challenge winner, Sue, who is quite new to blogging but has some lovely cards and stories on her blog – go check it out!!

Hope you can play along with us!

Merry Everything baubles

Hi there!

Happy Saturday from a wet and windy London! Today I’m playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge .

When I saw the sketch, I thought of so many possibilities for those five columns! In the end I opted for a festive theme, but I really must remember to use this sketch again one day and put those other ideas to use!

I used three baubles from a wonderful Simply Graphic retro ornament set that I got a few years ago. I decided to use some of my 6×6 patterned paper mountain – the wood planks background is by My Mind’s Eye and I think the other papers are by Basic Grey. Once I die cut the ornaments I ‘strung’ them with an older Memory Box die and then added a sentiment by My Favorite Things to complete my take on the sketch.
