Aloha parrot

Aloha cousins!

(I heard that phrase A LOT during my trip to Hawaii some years ago and always think of it when I hear/see ‘aloha’!)

Anyway, when Hero Arts released their latest stamps, I fell in love with the colour layering koala, but soon realised I had overlooked the fabulous parrot set! I used it to make today’s very quick and simple card – and of course I had to use the ‘aloha’ sentiment!

Have a great weekend!

Blast from the past – Neapolitan ice cream!

Hi everyone!

I’ve been having fun playing with my new Sunny Studios ‘Two Scoops’ layering stamps today! I found them really easy to line up and the images are amazing! Love them!

Anyway, this week’s Less is More Challenge has the theme of ‘Neapolitan’ and of course I had to use my new stamps set and create a Neapolitan ice cream cone! I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp and stuck the image onto a background I created with some (controlled) ink smooshing.

I’m also entering this card into the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge (summer fun) and the CAS Challenge (smoosh).

Right, I am off to get a bowl of ice cream!

Thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful day

Hi everyone! I’ve just found a great new-to-me challenge – the Retro Rubber challenge where we have to use a stamp that is least a year old! I still love using my old wood block rubber stamps and so I think I’ll be entering the challenge quite a bit in future!

Anyway, on to today’s card – I used a flower stamp from Magenta and a sentiment from Amuse Art Studio. Neither of them have dates on them but I think I’ve had them both for 7 years or so!

I’m entering this into the Case This Sketch challenge and also the Retro Rubber challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

Makes my heart sing

Hi there!

I’ve been trying to use the Purr-fect Friends stamp set from My Favorite Things for quite a while – and finally did today. I used images from the set together with two stencils by My Favorite Things to create this card (The sky/cloud inking on the window background is soft and so didn’t really show up in my photos unfortunately!).

Anyway, I’m entering today’s card into two challenges – My Favourite Things Sketch challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge (Furry Friends).

Thanks for stopping by!

Be Loud!

Happy Saturday!

The theme for this week’s Casology challenge is ‘Loud’ and I thought these wonderful stamps from Indigo Blu would be perfect.

I stamped the image and then masked it, before smooshing Distress Oxide Ink onto the background.

I think the image looks like it is raised off the background – it isn’t! The whole panel was mounted on funky foam before I stuck it onto a larger base card.

Thanks for looking!
