Snowflake Greetings

Great news everyone! I have finished my Christmas cards! It took AGES to write and address them, but I got there in the end! And that means I can go back to creating rather than ‘mass’ producing!

Here’s one of the quicker Christmas cards I made to send out this year. I made a few of this design with an Avery Elle stamp and various snowflake dies. The one in this card is from Simon Says Stamp.

I wanted to add a little something to the snowflake to finish it off and was so pleased to see how closely the nail heads matched the fabulous blue Delicata ink.

I’m entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge.

Let’s party and celebrate you!

Hi there!

The theme for the current Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge is ‘ Star Light, Star Bright’ and I took a break from my festive card making to create a celebration card!

I bought a wonderful Christmas stamp set from Paperartsy in September as I fell in love with the star formation on it. I seriously can’t believe I hadn’t inked it up!

Anyway, I stamped the image directly onto my base card and coloured it using my Prismacolor pencils. To finish the card, I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

I’m also going to enter this in the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge – anything goes.

Day 25 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags

WOO-HOO! I made it to Day 25 of Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event, people! My Christmas Eve should be much calmer this year as I won’t be rushing to finish my tags! Mind you, I’ll probably be rushing to finish something else instead though!

The sponsor for Day 25 was Pink & Main. There was so much inspiration from the DT – so many beautiful tags! Pamela Peese’s tag really stood out to me and so I just HAD to CASE it, using regular distress ink and stamps from Create a Smile and Hero Arts.

Sending Christmas Cheer

Happy Saturday everyone!

I thought that the My Monthly Hero kit this month was fabulous! I particularly loved the stamp set and knew I wanted NEEDED it! Anyway, the parcel landed on my doorstep this week and today was the first chance I had to play with it!

I embossed the tree with a gorgeous teal glitter embossing powder that I received from a friend today. Just look at that sparkle! I cut it out with one of the matching dies in the kit and then attached a smaller sentiment tag which I had made using an older Hero Arts stamp and a Spellbinders die. I was pretty chuffed to see that some old ribbon that I had bought in Michaels years ago matched the colour of the embossing powder perfectly!

I spent a little while trying to figure out the background. I knew it needed a little ‘something’ but I also wanted to keep the card quite CAS. I tried a dry embossed background but that seemed a little ‘heavy’ so in the end, I applied some glitter paste through a stencil – really love how much this card sparkles!

I’m entering this into the current Casology challenge which has the cue word of ‘cheer’.

Day 22 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hi there!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year.

The sponsor for Day 22 was Stamplorations. Linda Walmsley was my inspiration for this tag – I loved how she created her tag on a kraft base!

As I don’t have any festive stamps by Stamplorations, I used one of my little-used Penny Black sets. Don’t know why it doesn’t seem to get much use – don’t you think the tree is fabulous? I didn’t have any red embossing powder for the sentiment so I decided to try my new red Delicata ink. Just look at that fabulous shimmer! Love these inks! I am so happy they are producing more colours!

Pieced Birthday wishes

Hi everyone!

I’m popping in quickly with a late entry into a new-to-me challenge – the Male Craft Room challenge.

The theme of the challenge was paper piecing – something I haven’t done in YEARS! So when I saw it this evening, I ran into my craft room and got to work!

To begin with, I lightly blended some distress ink onto the base of my card to ‘ground’ the image. The large stamp is actually from a Christmas set by Krumspring Stamps and I used some of My Mind’s Eye paper mountain for the paper piecing.

To finish off the card, I added a sentiment from a My Sentiments Exactly set.
