Technique – Stamping

Dreaming of First Place

Hello everyone!

So for today’s 30 Day Colouring Challenge, I pulled out an old and sadly unused image from Magenta Art Stamps. Isn’t this horse the CUTEST! That face! I seriously can’t understand why I didn’t ink it up the minute I received it! I remember I had wanted it for quite a while and love the name of the stamp – it’s called ‘Dreaming of First Place’. So sweet!

Anyway, I coloured it using my Twinkling H2Os and decide it would be great to use on the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Unbelievably, I stumbled across some perfect patterned paper to create the striped background. Mind you, I have so much patterned paper that it really isn’t THAT surprising. I guess what is surprising is that I found this particular pattered paper in the second pad I flicked through!

To finish off my card, I added a small sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

Birthday Deco Roses

Hello Friends! Happy Friyay!

I’m excited that today marks the first day of another 30 Day Colouring Challenge. I love playing along and I’m hoping to colour something every day during this challenge. Let’s see how that goes!

I’ve also decided to set myself my own ‘sub-challenge’! I have LOTS of wood-mounted rubber stamps which I cannot bear to part with. And I remember buying them all! They are like my Christmas ornaments – they all have a story/memory! Anyway, I have rarely played with them in recent years so I’m going to use them exclusively for this colouring challenge.

So with that in mind, here is my car/colouring for Day 1 using a super Deco Roses image by Stampendous which I embossed and coloured with my Twinkling H2Os. I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp that I stamped in green Brilliance ink and then added a few Nuvo glitter drops as my little finishing touch!

I’m going to enter this into the current CAS on Friday Challenge (birthday) plus the current Addicted to Stamps Challenge (Anything Goes).

Thanks for stopping by!

You are so loved

Happy Saturday friends!

Today’s playing along with two of my favourite challenges – the Color Throwdown and the Memory Box monthly challenge.

The Color Throwdown’s palette this week is navy, grey and green and when I saw it, I knew I wanted to incorporate flowers or foliage in someway. In the end, I decided to use one of the very first dies my mum bought – the Memory Box Serafina Heart die. She’s been taking a break from crafting for a while and I’m ‘looking after’ some of her craft supplies until she gets back into it!

I added the die cut to a navy heart, also by Memory Box and added a few pearls for the flower centres. I then embossed a Hero Arts sentiment on a grey background panel before lightly stamping a My Favorite Things background stamp using versamark ink.

I stuck the heart to the base card with funky foam and added a few more mini pearls to finish off my card.

Sincere thanks

Hi there everyone!

Today I have a card I made using an old Stamp-It kitty stamp from my wooden stamp collection and the sketch from the current Case This Sketch challenge.

I stamped the image and then coloured it in using my Twinkling H2Os. I then embossed the Clearly Besotted sentiment, cut it out with a Lawn Fawn die and folded the end to reflect the sketch. I rarely play around with my sentiments like that, but I really like the effect, must try it more often!

I then added a few gems as the finishing touch!

You star!

Happy Monday everyone!

I’m playing along with the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge today.

I started by creating an embossed panel using a square piece of card and an embossing folder.

I knew that I wanted to use my Avery Elle star frame for the focal point, but didn’t want the embossed background to be seen in the centre of the frame. So, I carefully cut and stuck a piece of vellum to the frame and the added a silver die cut star to the centre.

I then stamped a Hero Arts sentiment on a strip ofwhite card which I trimmed down to touch the edge of the frame rather than run behind the vellum. A bit tricky, but it turned out just as I’d hoped.

Masked Birthday Blooms

Hello everyone and Happy Sunday!

It’s time for a new challenge over at AAA Cards and this fortnight we are challenging you to use up to a third of your CAS card. The rest of your card should be completely ‘clean’. The optional twist is ‘masking’. Our sponsor is CAS-ual Fridays.

For my card, I use stamps from an older Simon Says Stamp set called ‘Oh Happy Day’. I stamped the large flower first, masked it off and then stamped the smaller flowers.

I then added masks to the smaller flowers before stamping the leaves. I removed the masks and coloured the flowers using my Twinkling H2Os.

To finish off my card, I added a Clearly Besotted sentiment and a few of my favourite Nuvo glitter drops.

My teammates have come up with some gorgeous inspiration over at the AAA Cards Challenge blog. We are also joined by our Guest Designer – the talented Julie who has some gorgeous cards over on her blog, Crafted by Jules.

Hope you can play along with us!
