Monster Boo!

Hi there!

It’s been a while since I played along with a Case This Sketch challenge and so I decided to hop back into the challenge this week!

I used the brand new Whittle Monsters by Poppystamps. You see that little green monster? He is the whole reason I bought this die set! The set contains a cat as well, but I felt a ghost would be better in my scene here so I added one from my Whittle Ghost set. I created the background using distress oxide inks and a Hero Arts background stamp spritzed with water and the wooded frame is by Memory Box.

Merry Everything baubles

Hi there!

Happy Saturday from a wet and windy London! Today I’m playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge .

When I saw the sketch, I thought of so many possibilities for those five columns! In the end I opted for a festive theme, but I really must remember to use this sketch again one day and put those other ideas to use!

I used three baubles from a wonderful Simply Graphic retro ornament set that I got a few years ago. I decided to use some of my 6×6 patterned paper mountain – the wood planks background is by My Mind’s Eye and I think the other papers are by Basic Grey. Once I die cut the ornaments I ‘strung’ them with an older Memory Box die and then added a sentiment by My Favorite Things to complete my take on the sketch.

Hello Roses

Hi there!

It’s been a long time since I played along with a My Favorite Things challenge.. I used to play a lot, but I find myself drawn more to die cutting at the moment and I don’t have many MFT dies… or so I thought.

I was reminded of the weekly sketch challenges when I saw one of my friends, Lisa Tilson, was a guest designer this month, so I decided to play along.

First stop, my Die-namics container. It turns out that I do indeed have A LOT of MFT dies, including some that would perfectly with the current MFT Sketch challenge.

I used one of my favourite MFT background stamps (Lined Up Dots) which I covered lightly and unevenly with Pumice Stone distress oxide ink to give it that distressed effect. I used the Flower Vase die with some Basic Grey patterned paper and cut the Roses in Bloom dies from some distress ink panels. I adhered a coordinating strip to my card base first and then added all the elements. Finally I added a sentiment from the ANCIENT GP Wildflowers set!

Bright Autumn Leaves

Hi there!

Today I’m playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge .

I started with one of my favourite stamps for this time of year – the Hero Arts/Basic Grey collaboration from 2015 – Graphic Leaves Background. Oh how I miss Basic Grey!

Anyway, I applied my newest Distress Oxide inks (Speckled Egg and Crackling Campfire) and Fossilised Amber and trimmed down the panel. I added some Basic Grey paper to my card base before adhering the panel. I then added a Hero Arts sentiment and the Concord & 9th Layering Leaves dies. To complete my card, I adhered three Studio Katia iridescent bubbles – love that bling!

Woodland Pumpkin

Hello again everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown! The palette this week is orange, kraft and black – perfect for this time of year!

So with orange in the combo, I just HAD to include a pumpkin in my card! I chose a stamp from my new Penny Black Hello Pumpkin set and blended some distress inks to quickly colour the pumpkin. I then lifted some ink with water and added some orange and kraft paint in places.

I chose a piece of distressed black paper as my base and adhered the Simon Says Stamp Woodland Rectangular Frame which I had cut twice to extend (the join is hidden by the pumpkin). I heat embossed the Hero Arts sentiment and then adhered the pumpkin and some die cut swirls to complete my card.

Lavender Bunch

Hello again everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown! The pretty palette this week is purple, green and khaki!

I bought the Hero Arts Lavender Bunch stamp and die way back at the start of lockdown thinking I’d have tons of time to craft, but of course, I didn’t! So when I saw the colour combo this week, I thought it would be perfect for the lavender bunch image! I paired it with a Hero Arts Woodgrain Frame die and a sentiment from Mama Elephant.
