You warm my heart

Happy Friyay everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the The Card Concept challenge using products sent to me by Penny Black.

After playing around with lots of different ideas for the beautiful Wholeheartedly cling stamp (40-817), I ended up stamping it on a square card base using a grey ink.  I then used my Prismacolour pencils to add colour and definition to the leaves and stems! I certainly needed sharp pencils for this!

I added a sentiment from the Warm My Heart stamp set (30-895) and a few hearts from yesterday’s crafting and sequins to complete my card.

I love the foliage heart in the inspiration image, although I veered from their colour palette with my CAS creation!

You make my heart smile

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the theme challenge at The Paper Players using Penny Black supplies.

To start, I inked up an image from the Bunches of Love stamp set (30-890) and coloured it using my Twinkling H2O paints before cutting it with the coordinating die set (51-726).

I then cut the heart frame using a die from the fabulous Lovely Borders die set (51-484) and adhered the panel to coloured cardstock. I then added my image and a sentiment from the Words Sweet stamp set (30-525) to complete my card.

Winter birch

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the Freshly Made Sketches challenge using Penny Black products.

First I stamped a tree from the Woodsy cling set (40-812), masked off the trunk and a strip towards the bottom of my card and blended some blue distress ink across the background and added a little green ink to the base. I removed the masks and used a watercolour pen to add some sparkle to the white section. Unfortunately, the sparkle didn’t photograph at all so I has to go back and add a little texture to the snow using a light grey coloured pencil. I added a sentiment from the When Snow Falls set (30-881) and lots of stickles to the tree – this card is very sparkly in real life!

I felt the card needed a little extra so I added a few birds from the Harmony With Nature die set (51-707) to complete my card.

Balloon heart basket

Hello everyone!

Tday I’m playing along in the Color Throwdown challenge using Penny Black products.

First I die cut a selection of hearts from the Heart Balloons die set (51-493) and coloured them using distress inks. I stamped the pot from the Timber & Tidings cling set (40-795) using Frayed Burlap distress oxide ink and fussy cut it. While it was drying, I sponged a soft background on my card base and then arranged all the balloons and twine. After adhering the pot, I added a sentiment from the Words Sweet stamp set (30-525) – it’s actually my favourite sentiment for Valentine’s cards!

Mailing Bunches of love

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches using a brand new Penny Black stamp set called Bunches of Love (30-890) and its coordinating die set (51-726).

To start with, I created an ink blended panel and lifted some ink using water. I coloured the beautiful envelope image with my Twinkling H2O paints and then cut round it with the coodinating die. I adhered the image over the panel and then added the sentiment from the stamp set and a few small sequins to complete my card.

Day 25 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2021

Hi everyone!

As Tracey McNeely isn’t running her 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year, I have created my own event using 25 days from Tracey’s event posts over the last decade, as I explained in this post.

Day 25’s inspiration is Day 18, 2017. Here’s the tag I made then!

I love Avery Elle, but I also really wanted to finish off my tags quickly! So I chose Brianna’s tag as inspiration for my design but replaced the foliage with Avery Elle snowflakes!

And that concludes my own tag challenge this year. While I really missed Tracey’s event, I was so grateful that she has so much inspiration from the past decade and I loved how her style evolved as the challenge got bigger and bigger. The only downside for me really was that I started too late and so this challenge really cut into my December crafting. I will certainly try to start on 1 November next year!
