Glorious Gazebo

Happy Friyay Everyone!

Today’s card is for the Inkspirational challenge which has a theme of ‘watercolour’.

I’ve loved this wood-mounted Art Impressions Gazebo Window for a while and when I saw it was on sale a few weeks ago, I snapped it up! I stamped it with my new go-to ink (Frayed Burlap Archival ) and coloured it with my Twinkling H2O paints.

After I trimmed down the image, I decided I wanted a little something extra, but not too overpowering as I wanted that beautiful image to take centre stage! So I cut the beautiful Poppystamps Massa Leaf Frame and adhered it to my card base before adding the image on top.

Heart of Tulips

Hi there!

I’m back again today with the card I made for The Flower Challenge where the theme is ‘add a heart’.

I’ve been wanting to use the tulip heart stamp from the Simon Says Stamp Easter Wishes set for a while – it’s a beautiful image but as it’s on an Easter set, it usually gets put away and forgotten about! This year, I made sure to keep it on my table when I put away the rest of my Easter supplies!

I stamped the image with my Frayed Burlap distress Archival ink – and I just have to say that this really has become my go-to ink for almost all my stamping! I’m so glad I made my own large ink pad!

Anyway, back to the card – I coloured the image with my twinkling H2Os and then fussy cut it. I die cut the Poppystamps’ Sylvan Sprig from vellum and adhered it to my card base. I added the heart on top and then a Memory Box sentiment.

I was just about to photograph my card when I decided it needed something else so I added a few gems to complete it!

Just Breathe

Hi there!

Today I’m playing along with the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches using Penny Black products.

As soon as I saw the New Adventures clear stamp set (30-902), I wanted it! I’ve mentioned before that I found yoga in 2021 and I have continued it… my daily practice is really part of my way of life now, and I love it! Anyway, I decided that the image of the girl doing cobra (or maybe that’s upward dog?!) would work perfectly with the sketch so I stamped it with my Frayed Burlap Archival ink and coloured it with my Twinkling H2Os. Then I fussy cut around the image – I left a small white border but later decided I didn’t want that so I cut right up to the ink – fortunately this is a really easy image to cut!

I then created a blended centre panel using distress inks and adhered the image using foam squares. I added a sentiment from the Yoga Builder set (30-714) and a few butterflies from the  Soaring die set (51-731) to complete my card.

Make a Splash!

Hello Everyone!

Today I’m playing along with CAS challenge at The Paper Players where the theme is ‘April Showers’.

I pondered this card for a while as I really wanted to use a sentiment that says ‘April showers bring May flowers’ but I couldn’t come up with a design that I liked using the sentiment (which is quite large)…. Then I remembered the My Monthly Hero February 2017 kit…

Confession time here, friends…. I am ashamed to say that I bought this kit when it came out… but I have NEVER used it. In fact it still had the bow around it. How embarrassing! At least I know I tend to use my new stuff quite quickly nowadays… and at least I am using the kit now… albeit five years on.

I created a soft background using a hexagon stencil and then stamped/die cut the images before colouring them with Twinkling H2Os. I wanted to use a different sentiment from those in the set and tried an old Simon Says Stamp sentiment first. Sadly part of the stamp wouldn’t stamp out so I had to abandon that idea and rather than add a sentiment to cover it up, I quickly created another ink-blended hexagon.

This time I added a Reverse Confetti sentiment without incident (phew)!

April 2022 Get Cracking on Christmas

Hello everyone!

It’s the third Thursday of the month AGAIN (!) and so it’s time for me to play along with Jenn Shurkus’s ‘Get Cracking on Christmas’. Today I’m using the colour palette from this week’s CAS Colours and Sketches challenge.

Today, I chose to use the tree from the fabulous Meowy Christmas stamp set by Hero Arts. I stamped it with Crushed Olive Distress Oxide and layered it to two other die cut pieces for dimension.  I sponged a light layer of Salvage Patina Distress Oxide ink to my card base and adhered the tree on top. Finally I added some Nuvo glitter drops and a Simon Says Stamp sentiment to complete my card.

Great Impressions Stem Vase

Hello again Everyone!

I’m back again today with a non-Easter card that I made for the Inkspirational challenge. As soon as I saw the photo, I knew I had to play along and although my first thought was to pull out my dies, I remembered this elegant Great Impressions wood-mounted stamp that I felt would be perfect.

I stamped the image using my Frayed Burlap Archival ink and then lightly blended some distress ink around it. I coloured the image with my Twinkling H2O paints and added a Mamaa Elephant sentiment.
