Corn Harvest Basket

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the Freshly Made Sketches challenge using products kindly sent to me by Penny Black.

When I saw the sketch, I thought about the Basket Builder set (30-856) as I thought a basket would work perfectly with the sketch. I stamped the basket and corn images, coloured them and then cut them with the coordinating dies (51-715).

Now for the circle element…. As I mentioned yesterday, I’m on a mission to reduce my dependency on blue/aqua backgrounds. Fortunately this morning, the was the most amazing sunrise, the sky was stunning, dominated by pinks and oranges – and that served as my inspiration! I blended some distress ink across my card base and then cut a circle from a separate piece of card using a die from the Stitched Circles set (51-551) before adhering it to my card base. I then added my corn basket and a few die cut wheatsheaves from the Autumn Decor set (51-653).

To complete my card, I added a sentiment from the Autumn is Calling set (30-863). The sentiment is actually much bigger and says ‘Have a lovely Fall filled with Blessings) so I just stamped the first part as I felt that would tie in well with the sentiment strip in the sketch.

Pumpkin Owl

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the colour challenge at the Just Us Girls challenge using products sent to me by Penny Black. The colour palette is rather autumnal – orange, green and brown.

I decided to use one of the fun images from the Owlsome stamp set (30-718) – is he a pumpkin decorated as an owl or an owl dressed as a pumpkin?! I think the former but either way he is so much fun! I embossed the image and coloured it with my Twinkling H2O paints before I fussy cut it. I added some stickles and pearls plus a bit of a wink of Stella to his eyes… sadly you can’t see much of the shimmer in my photos, but his eyes sparkle in real life!

For the background, I used one of the new dies from the Fall 2022 release – Fall Fern (51-756) and coloured it with my Twinklings – I love how the leaves match the pumpkin owl’s wings!

After adding some paint splatters, I adhered everything to my card base and added the sentiment from the Pumpkin Stack mini stamp set (30-855).

Christmas Kindness

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the CAS Colours and Sketches sketch challenge using products kindly sent to my by Penny Black from their Christmastime 2022 release.

As soon as I saw the new products, I could not wait to play with the Stocking Stuffers die set (51-747) – a really good sized stocking and lots of fun branches. I also added a couple of branches from the Joy of Giving set (51-748) and coloured everything with distress inks. The stocking trim was the exception as I used glitter on white cardstock. It’s so sparkly in real life!

For the background panel, I masked off a section and lightly blended some distress ink across my card base before stamping an oldie and goodie background stamp (Dotted Fusion – 40-278) with versamark ink – love how this dried a purple-grey colour.

I added a sentiment from the Jolly Snippets set (30-925) to complete my card.

Blooming 2022

Hello everyone!

Today I’m sharing some cards I made with Penny Black’s Blooming 2022 release. Penny Black kindly sent me these products back in mid May and having reached London very quickly, they headed straight out of the country again!! They summered in Brazil for a few months before beginning their journey again – this time to Miami where they spent a few more weeks! But they finally got to me last week and I am so pleased – it was such a beautiful release and had so many die sets that I was excited to create with.

First up is my ‘Splendid Tattered Rose’ card. I created a panel from a Tattered Rose distress oxide and cut it with dies from the Splendid dies set (51-739). I just adore the bud die, which I think could also be used as leaves! The sentiment is from the So Thankful stamp set (30-914).

I then turned my attention to the Courier die set (51-734). I have to confess that I was a little intimidated by the size of the bird, but he was super easy to colour with distress inks! The die set includes a branch but I wanted to add more colour so included the beautiful Whisper die (51-737), also coloured with distress inks. The sentiment is from the Thinking of You stamp set (30-825).

As soon as I saw the release, I wanted to try the pretty Duet die (51-736). I actually spent a long time playing with it this weekend, so you’ll probably see it make an appearance in more cards soon! For this card, I coloured it with my Twinkling H2O paints. I adhered it to some card that I had cut with the Wavy Stitch Edges die (51-418) and added a sentiment from the Grateful Heart set (30-467).

Last but definitely not least is my card using the gorgeous An Impression die set (51-735). I love this set – it’s so versatile! I particularly love those leaves/fronds! For this card, I lightly stamped the Brick Wall cling stamp (40-137) on my card base first before adhering the die cuts and adding a sentiment from the Big Love stamp set (30-898).

Flowers in leafy vines

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along in the Color Throwdown challenge using products sent to me by Penny Black.

The palette this week is green, brown, black and white and after weeks of using Christmas supplies, I was very happy to get out my non-festive supplies!

I started by masking off a rectangle and blending some Vintage Photo distress ink on my card base. I then inked up the beautiful Letter Background cling stamp (40-780) and stamped it over the masked off section of my base. Then I got busy with my dies! I cut some green patterned paper with dies from the Garden Greens die set (51-652) and arranged them on the card base. I then used white glitter card and cut flowers from the Autumn Decor (51-653) and Cherry Blossom (51-419) die sets. Once I had got an arrangement that I was happy with, I stuck everything down and added a twine bow and some black centres to each flower.

Finally I added a sentiment from the Ever Thanks set (30-813).

CAS Christmas Guest Designer August 2022

Hi there!

I am so delighted to be a Guest Designer for this month’s CAS Christmas Challenge.  The theme this month is ‘pine’.

For my CAS card, I used The Greetery’s Pine Botanicuts die set! I love this set so much! I adhered it to a wood slice die cut (also be the Greetery) and added a Penny Black sentiment and Sizzix bow.

The CAS Christmas DT has come up with some amazing inspiration over on the challenge blog. I hope you can play along!
