Blooming 2022

Hello everyone!

Today I’m sharing some cards I made with Penny Black’s Blooming 2022 release. Penny Black kindly sent me these products back in mid May and having reached London very quickly, they headed straight out of the country again!! They summered in Brazil for a few months before beginning their journey again – this time to Miami where they spent a few more weeks! But they finally got to me last week and I am so pleased – it was such a beautiful release and had so many die sets that I was excited to create with.

First up is my ‘Splendid Tattered Rose’ card. I created a panel from a Tattered Rose distress oxide and cut it with dies from the Splendid dies set (51-739). I just adore the bud die, which I think could also be used as leaves! The sentiment is from the So Thankful stamp set (30-914).

I then turned my attention to the Courier die set (51-734). I have to confess that I was a little intimidated by the size of the bird, but he was super easy to colour with distress inks! The die set includes a branch but I wanted to add more colour so included the beautiful Whisper die (51-737), also coloured with distress inks. The sentiment is from the Thinking of You stamp set (30-825).

As soon as I saw the release, I wanted to try the pretty Duet die (51-736). I actually spent a long time playing with it this weekend, so you’ll probably see it make an appearance in more cards soon! For this card, I coloured it with my Twinkling H2O paints. I adhered it to some card that I had cut with the Wavy Stitch Edges die (51-418) and added a sentiment from the Grateful Heart set (30-467).

Last but definitely not least is my card using the gorgeous An Impression die set (51-735). I love this set – it’s so versatile! I particularly love those leaves/fronds! For this card, I lightly stamped the Brick Wall cling stamp (40-137) on my card base first before adhering the die cuts and adding a sentiment from the Big Love stamp set (30-898).
