AAA Cards One Layer challenge with Hexagons twist

Hi there!

It’s time for the a new challenge at AAA Cards!  This fortnight we’d like you to create a one-layer CAS card; our optional twist is ‘hexagons’.

For my card, I created an ink-blended hexagon using a Taylored Expressions stencil and then stamped an image from an old Hero Arts set called Asian Frames. I was so chuffed that the stamp was a perfect fit with the ink-blended hexagon! I then added a few smaller hexagons using another Taylored Expressions stencil and a sentiment by Clearly Besotted.

My team mates have come up with some beautiful cards which are on the AAA Cards challenge blog. We are also joined a previous challenge winner, Sue, who has some lovely inspiration on her blog!

Poppystamps flowers and butterflies

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Poppystamps challenge where the theme is flowers and butterflies! Two of my favourites! I can’t believe I only saw the theme at the end of the month – the challenge closes tonight so I made it just in time!

I used quite a few dies from my Poppystamps collection: the main image is the Blooming Branches Sidekick frame and stencil set, then I used the Dervyn Butterfly Trio and Emelia Butterfly Trio. Finally I added the freehand Happy Spring sentiment – althoughit has been super warm here today, technically it is still spring until mid June after all!

Favourite Technique challenge

Today I’m playing along in TWO challenges hosted by Simon Says Stamp – the May instagram challenge where the theme is ‘favourite technique’ and the Wednesday challenge which is ‘anything goes’ with Simon Says Stamp products being showcased.

I decided to make another mini slimline card using my current favourite technique of die cutting. I used the Simon Says Stamp Sweet Tulip die and a stamped sentiment from a 2012 SSS set called Flower Friend.

The sentiment is also by Memory Box.

Mini Slimline card

Hi there!

Next up today, I’m playing along with the colour challenge over at CAS Colours and Sketches.

Many many years ago, I made MANY mini slim line cards, but I haven’t made one for years! Luckily I kept all the card bases I bought and dusted them down for today’s quick CAS card. I used dies by Memory Box, coloured with distress ink, together with a sentiment from The Ton Stamps.

Under the Sea Collage

Happy Monday everyone!

First up today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown which has a stunning colour combo this week (aqua, ice blue and pale green).

I had one idea for this card, but then couldn’t find the stamp I wanted to use – goodness knows where it is! So I quickly had to pivot to a quick CAS card using Memory Box dies (under the Sea Collage, Delicate Sea Fan and Swimming Seahorses). Although the blended background turned out a little darker than I wanted, I’m happy that I was able to play with my new Salvage Patina distress ink again, it’s such a pretty colour!

I’m also entering this into the current Memory Box challenge where the theme is water.
