Welcome to Day 29 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2022! Today’ I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown challenge which has a peaceful palette of cream, kraft and powder blue.
For my card, I used The Greetery’s Rustic Wreath die set plus a few Waffle Flower ornaments. I’m a bit disappointed that the blue in the photos looks much deeper than real life!

When I saw the sketch I thought ‘SNOWFLAKES’! Time to get those dies working! I used three dies by Simon Says Stamp (Alicia, Rylann and Kate), together with the Filigree Snowflakes embossing folder, also by Simon. The sentiment is by Penny Black.

Welcome to Day 26 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2022! Today I’m playing along in the CAS Colours and Sketches challenge.
I have to admit, I was a little stumped when I saw the sketch but then I suddenly remembered one of my favourite deer dies – the Swift Reindeer by Memory Box. I thought that I used it every single year, but I was shocked to discover I last used him in July 2019! Anyway, for today’s card, I masked off a triangle shape and then blended some Salvage Patina distress ink before lifting some ink off with water. I coloured the deer with distress inks and Twinkling H2O paints and adhered to my card. Finally I added a Mama Elephant sentiment.

Welcome to Day 25 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2022! Today I’m playing along in The Paper Players sketch challenge.
I’m continuing to work my way through my new Simon Says Stamp embossing folders – today’s card uses the beautiful Holiday Greenery folder, together with dies from Waffle Flower’s new Layered Winter Bird die set. There are a few medium-sized cardinal sets around at the moment and I’m loving this little guy!

Welcome to Day 24 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2022! Once again this month, I’m doing something I rarely seem to do – sharing a card that I created without a challenge in mind!
I started by using the fabulous Sizzix 3D Christmas Trees folder. I think this is one of my favourite Christmas folders! I love the detail and all the quirky little trees!
For the focal point tree, I used an older Poppystamps die to cut the tree from white cardstock and then embossed it using a folder that I’d brayered with Rustic Wilderness distress oxide ink. I added some stickles over the white embossing.
The sentiment is from a set by My Favorite Things.

Welcome to Day 23 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2022! Today I’m playing along in the Just Add Ink sketch challenge.
I picked up a few 3D embossing folders from Simon Says Stamp a few weeks ago and they arrived yesterday – I couldn’t wait to play with them! The thing is, they are just so beautiful, I can never bring myself to cover up the embossing! So today’s card is pretty simple – the Christmas Floral embossing folder is the star and die cuts by Poppystamps, Savvy Stamps and Simply Graphic make up the supporting cast!
