Die cuts only – delicate floral buds

Hi there!

It’s been a long time since I played along with a Just Add Ink challenge and now that work is calming down, I have more time for crafting and decided to play along this week.

The challenge theme is no stamping so I pulled out my new  Delicate Floral Buds die set by Birch Press Design and got busy with my Gemini Junior!

The sentiment is by Simply Graphic and the embossing folder is by Spellbinders.

Bunny Kisses

Happy Sunday everyone!

It’s been a while since I played along with the Can You Handle the Pressure challenge, but as I was able to craft a lot this weekend, I decided to join in with the current challenge which has the optional twist of Easter

I’ve been excited to play with the cute Bunny Kisses die set by The Greetery and today was the day! I coloured the images with distress ink and added a little mini pompom to the bunny. I embossed some light pink cardstock with a Spellbinders embossing folder and assembled my little scene on a panel cut from an older My Favorite Things Die-Namics set. The grass is cut with a Lawn Fawn die.

The sentiment is by Clearly Besotted.

Die cuts only – tulips

Hi again everyone!

Next up today is my entry for the Poppystamps challenge where the theme is ‘die cuts only’.

I knew I wanted to use my newest Poppystamps die set – the Layered Tulip die set so started by cutting some old inky panels with the dies while I thought about the rest of the card. I wondered if I could use an embossed background but given the theme I played it safe with the leafy frame from the Fern and Daisy Pop up Easel set. I added some foliage from a Memory Box flower set.

Then I spent a little while looking at all my sentiment dies – I was rather surprised that I don’t have many generic sentiments by Poppystamps, but fortunately this Hello worked well!

Great Day Bouquet

Happy Friyay everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge using some products kindly sent to me by Penny Black.

When I saw the sketch, I knew I wanted to use one of my favourite background dies – the Geometric Circles die (51-644) with a jar of flowers from the new Charisma stamp set (30-969)*. I started by colouring the stamped image with my Twinking H2O paints and used the colours as inspiration for a distress ink background. I trimmed down the panel, adhered the background die cut and added some Stickles.

While that was drying, I set up my card base and used the Textural die (51-729)* for the background strip in the sketch. After assembling all the die cut elements, I added a little flower from the Swinging die set (51-618) to the jar and a sentiment from the Snippets stamp set (30-283).

Filigree Easter Egg

Hello again everyone!

Next up today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown ! The combo this week is perfect for Easter cards – so I decided to make my first Easter card this year!

I snapped up a few Easter bargains in a Simon Says Stamp sale last year – including the fabulous Filigree Message Oval. I’ve been waiting a year to use it and it was worth the wait! I die cut the image twice – I removed all the tiny die cuttings from the first image, which I coloured yellow with distress ink.  I left all the leaves, petals and dots in place on the second image and just coloured them with alcohol markers before adhering the yellow oval on top – much easier than inlaying all those tiny leaves and petals!

The sentiment is also by Simon Says Stamp and the background is embossed with eth fabulous Spellbinders Flower Frenzy embossing folder.
