Technique – die cutting

Featuring die cutting

Easter Greetings Chicks

Happy Good Friday!

Well I’m feeling very confused as it has felt like a Saturday to me all day today – nice to have a bonus tomorrow!

Anyway, today I’m playing along with theme challenge at The Paper Players.

As it’s almost Easter, I felt I had to choose either chicks or bunnies for the animal theme – and I ended up using Tim Holtz’s fabulous Colorize Chick die set.

The nest is by Memory Box and I added a Reverse Confetti frame and Pretty Pink Posh sentiment.

Easter Egg branch

Happy Sunday everyone!

It’s been quite a while since I played along with a CAS Colours and Sketches challenge, but I finally had time this weekend!

I have to confess that I have taken a rather wide interpretation of the sketch with five eggs representing the five vertical lines in the sketch! But it was so fun to make, although it turned out to be a lot more fiddly than it should have been really! I used a Simon Says Stamp branch die which had built-in hangers for hearts an presents but of course, I had to cut the ‘hangers’ off the branch because I wanted to put the hangers for the eggs somewhere else…. and then I positioned the large egg too low ehich meant that my Waffle Flower hanger wouldn’t reach… I got through a lot of glitter paper making a longer one! Argh!

The eggs are by Poppystamps and the sentiment is by Clearly Besotted.

Oh Bunny hi

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I had all sorts of ideas for the sketch when I was looking at the challenge last night and then this morning I woke up and created something completely different!

I used the Hampstead Oval Frame die from Poppystamps to frame a set of cute bunnies from the Simon Says Stamp Oh Bunny stamp and die set.

The sentiment is by Taylored Expressions.

Egg planter

Happy Friyay everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown which has a fabulous spring combo of yellow, sage green, grey and white.

I loved the inspiration photo because it totally reminds me of my new Honey Bee Stamps Bud Vases die set! As much as I wanted to fully recreate the photo with my new dies, I decided to use the fabulous planter die from the set and an Easter twist. The eggs and sweet chick are by Poppystamps.

The sentiment is by Simon Says Stamp.

Large Happy Easter Egg

Hi there!

It’s been a long time since I played along with a Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge but I was particularly inspired this weekend AND I had time to create so I was able to enter more challenges than usual!

The challenge theme  is Spring and/or Easter – I opted for the latter and made a quick CAS card using a very old Memory Box die, Speckled Egg distress ink and a Spellbinders embossing folder.

I think this would make the perfect Easter card for my dad!

Backyard Floral Egg

Hi there!

Today I’m playing along with the Outside the Box challenge where the theme is floral favourites!

I decided to play with my newest Memory Box die again – the Backyard Floral. I coloured it with distress inks and adhered it to an egg die cut. The embossing folder and sentiment are also by Memory Box.

Thanks for stopping by!
