Technique – die cutting

Featuring die cutting

Vase Cluster

Happy Friyay!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown challenge which has another stunning colour palette this week – yellow, orange, red and kraft.

I wanted to play with my new Miss P Loves Botanical die set. Can you believe I ordered these at 2.30 yesterday and they arrived with this morning’s post? Bravo, Crafts 4 Less!

I cut several stems and coloured them with distress inks. I then cut a few vases from my Stampin’ Up! Boho Indigo die set and adhered them to a strip cut using a Honey Bee woodgrain frames element die. I lightly blended a circle on my card base, adhered the die cuts and stamped a Pretty Pink Posh sentiment to complete my take.

Lavender bunch

Hello again everyone!

Today I’m playing along with two challenges with this card today – the Card Concept challenge.

I was inspired by the colours and the rustic feel of the Card Concept’s inspiration photo. I went for the Clean and Layered design, using lots of die cut layers but also keeping the card quite clean with a good amount of white space. I used dies by Mempry Box (Lavender Stems) and Poppystamps (Bow), and a background stamp by Impression Obsession. The sentiment is by Clearly Besotted.

Butterfly circles

Hi everyone!

Next today I’m playing along with the sketch challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches.

I seem to be going through a circle phase at the moment! This time I used the fabulous Paper Artsy Gwen Lafleur No 8 Cling set that I picked up about six months ago. I stamped the image and cut it out using a circular punch. I coloured it with my  Twinkling H2Os and adhered it to a circle cut from some of my Basic Grey patterned paper mountain. To complete my very CAS card, I added a small sentiment by Clearly Besotted.

Spring Vase

Hello friends!

I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown challenge which has another beautiful colour palette this week – blue, yellow, green and white. Perfect spring colours!

I just received my annual Stampin Up! order and was itching to use the Indigo Blue stamp and die set that I purchased! So happy I was able to use it right away! I also used an older flower die by Simon Says Stamp (Meadow Rue – from 2013!) and dies from Poppystamps and Simply Graphic. The sentiment is by Mama Elephant.

Dreamy Freesia

Hello friends!

Today I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown challenge which has another beautiful colour palette this week – pink, yellow, green and kraft. Perfect LucieG colours!

I created an ink-blended panel in the centre of my card using distress inks and then cut and coloured Memory Box’s Dreamy Freesia die. I really wanted the flower to take centre stage as freesias are very special to me, but felt the card needed a little something so I added a few vellum leaves cut from a Simply Graphic die.  The heat-embossed sentiment is also by Memory Box.

Floral band

Hello Friends

Happy Saturday! Today I’m playing along with the  Freshly Made Sketches challenge using new-to-me products by Simon Says Stamp.

I heat embossed the beautiful SSS Floral Background stamp and coloured it using distress ink. I used a wavy background die to cut a piece of white card and then adhered the three panels to my card base. To complete my card, I added a die cut sentiment.
