Day 13 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hi there!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year.

I was so pleased to see that the Day 13 sponsor was Neat & Tangled. They released one of my favourite stamps this season – Fa La Llama. It is so cute! I loved Brianna Loefflebein’s take and used her tag as my inspiration.

I created the background using the small snowflake stamp in the set. I may have gone a little overboard, but that Delicata Cosmic Copper shimmer ink is so fabulous! I’ve tried to capture it a bit in my photo… it is so shimmery in real life!

Happy Together

Hi there!

The theme for the current Casology Challenge is ‘Tiny’. So many possibilities with this one! In the end, I pulled out a very old Stampin Up set. The date on the stamps is 2004 but I think I got them later – maybe 2007/8. Anyway, it’s definitely time to give them some love again. I really liked Janet’s card design to support the small focal point so decided to use her card as my inspiration this time.

I chose the ‘Happy Together’ image which I have always thought would be perfect for anniversary cards. I coloured it using my Twinkling H2O paints and cut it out using a Spellbinders die.

I matted it to two other die-cut rectangles and then adhered it to my base card using some foam pads to provide more dimension.

Day 12 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hi there!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year.

Lawn Fawn was the sponsor for Day 12. Great opportunity for me to use some of my cutesy Christmas stamps that don’t get much use at all!

Samantha C was my inspiration for this tag – I loved the colour she used for the background of her cute scene and tried to replicate it her with some distress oxide ink as I didn’t have the patterned paper!

It’s Your Birthday!

Hi everyone!

There’s a lovely autumn palette for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge (brown, orange, green and kraft) but I decided to put them to use on a birthday card, using the sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I embossed an older wood-mounted stamp from Stampendous and then coloured it using my Twinkling H2Os.

I then used a Spellbinders embossing folder on a square of kraft cardstock and stuck it to my base card. I added some paper from My Mind’s Eye paper and the stamped sentiment to finish off my card.

This card came together very quickly… I really wanted to add some orange and green sequins but talked myself out of it as I think this will end up being used for a chap who isn’t that keen on sequins…. or any embellishments!

Day 4 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hi there!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year.

The Day 4 sponsor was Reverse Confetti. Love love love their products and could not believe that I didn’t have anything Christmassy by them! Rather than re-purpose one of their sets, I decided to use a very old wood-mounted stamp from Funstamps as I had been absolutely inspired by the blue/white/snowmen tags that the DT had come up with – I guess my tag is a hybrid of tags made by Jen del Muro and Heather Hoffman.

I created a background using a stencil and the stamped a sentiment from Hero Arts before creating a shaker using a frame die from my Favorite Things. Then I turned to my ‘oldie but goodie’ snowman which I coloured with Twinkling H2Os before fussy cutting him out. I added him to the top of my shaker – thanks Jen, for that idea!

To create the ‘hanger’ for the ribbon, I cut part of a Simon Says Stamp ornament die and stuck that to the back of my tag and then stuck another piece of card on top to prevent it from moving.

Favourite pumpkin

Happy Friyay!

This week’s Less is More challenge is ‘stamp layering’! I have quite a few layering sets – animals, trees, flowers, Christmas-themed…. but I decided to go with a Hampton Art autumn set I got a few weeks ago.

The pumpkin image only has 2 layers, so to add depth, I inked up the solid/base stamp with two shades of ink and then used a third shade for the second/detailed stamp. I masked off my orange pumpkin and stamped the detailed stamp a few times in grey. Love how nicely it turned out!

I added some colour to the scene using my Twinkling H2Os an stuck it behind a frame I cut from a base card.

To finish off the card, I added an embossed sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp set.
