Cosmic Shimmer butterflies

Hi Everyone!

Today, I’m playing along with this week’s sketch challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches.

I’ve had Cosmic Shimmer Luna paste for a while now, but I rarely use it. I almost bought some more Nuvo embellishment mousse at the weekend, but decided to try the Luna paste again before pressing that ‘Buy’ button and I’m glad I waited! I’d forgotten how shimmery the Luna paste is. And unlike my embellishment mousse, they were still in perfect condition!

I applied a mix of the paste to a card base and left it to dry overnight. I then cut out some Bright Rosa butterflies and arranged them as per the sketch before adding a few pearls for their ‘bodies’!

The embossed sentiment is by Sugar Pea Designs.

Christmas in July – Day 17

Hi Everyone

Day 17 of Christmas in July and I’m still die cutting! Today I used an older Memory Box die, Dazzling Snowflake from 2014, with the sketch from the current Case This Sketch Challenge and the fabulous palette from this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge – pink, grey, white and silver. I used this die a lot for some mass-produced cards five years ago; this card is definitely NOT a design for speedy mass production – that inlaid die cutting took a while due to ALL THOSE TINY DOTS. Worth it though, I love the effect! The stamped sentiment is by Sugar Pea Designs.

I’m also entering this into the current CAS Christmas challenge where the theme is snowflake.

Christmas in July – Day 14

Happy Sunday!

Christmas in July Day 14 and the final Day of the 30 day colouring challenge!

For today’s card, I used one of my favourite festive stamps – the wonderful Stampendous Kitty Claws. I LOVE this stamp so much! My mum bought it first, over a decade or so ago, but I kept borrowing it, so I was very happy to pick one up for myself about five years ago! The sentiment is by Sugar Pea Designs.

Loving Koala

Hi everyone!

When I saw the sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches challenge blog, I thought it would be a great way of using my new Simon Say Stamp/Sugar Pea Stamptember koala stamps. The set is so cute and I am so glad I managed to snag one before they sold out!

Anyway, for my card, I stamped and coloured the cute koala and then carefully cut just under the image so I could slip a strip of My Mind’s Eye paper underneath – so that it looked like he was sitting on the strip. Anyway, I then added a circle from that I cut from a distress oxide background I made a while back and added a sentiment from the set. I still felt like the card needed ‘something’, so I cut out two hearts to finish it off.

I’m also entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge – anything goes.

Thanks for stopping by!
