Simply Graphic

Christmas in July 2021 – Day 3

Hello everyone and welcome to Day 3 of Christmas in July 2021!

Today I’m playing along with the current challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches.

As I wanted to reduce the layers on my card, I started off by embossing a square on my card base using a die. I lightly blended some distress ink to reinforce the shape, but didn’t press too heavily as I didn’t want to it detract from my focal point! I then coloured a couple of Simply Graphic stem dies together with a Poppystamps die with distress inks and adhered them to my card base. To complete my CAS card, I added a sentiment by The Ton Stamps.

White Stems

Hi there!

I must confess when I saw the sketch at this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge, I was a little stumped. I’m predominantly a CAS cardmaker and thought I may have to get inky and create a busier card.

However, by the time I got round to creating with the sketch, I thought I’d try to create more of a CAS card. Using four distress oxide inks, I stamped a brushstroke stamp from the Flora and Fauna Texture set and then adhered four Simply Graphic die cuts on top. I added a Tonic Studio sentiment and a few sequins to complete my card.

Happy Father’s Day 2021

Happy Father’s Day to my dear Dad!

My dad prefers very CAS cards but I couldn’t resist just adding a little bit of interest to the background on this card!

I die cut the Simply Graphic irregular circle frames from white card and adhered them to my card base. Next, I coloured the Scrapping Cottage Vintage Car die with distress inks. Jalopies are a special shared memory for my dad and I and so I HAD to buy this die when I spotted it in a sale years ago!

I used a Simon Says Stamp  Star die and then snipped the die cut in a few places so that I could arrange the stars to reflect the sketch. I also die cut a few smaller stars.

To finish off the card, I added a sentiment from an old Hero Arts wood-mounted stamp. They’ve released this in a clear stamp set now and although I’m quite tempted to buy it, my old wood-mounted stamps still give a great impression.

I’m entering this into the Male Room Challenge where the theme is Dads or Grandads.

Thanks A Latte!

Hi there!

Next up today, I’m playing along with the sketch challenge over at CAS Colours and Sketches.

I used dies by Simply Graphic together with a Lil Inker Designs sentiment and a Echo Park stencil. I decided to use the colours from the Color Hues challenge but I got confused with the closing time for the challenge so didn’t submit that in time!

Berry collage

Happy Monday everyone!

Today I’m playing along with two challenges – the Color Throwdown (red, light blue, kraft and ivory) and the sketch  from  Freshly Made Sketches.

This card came together very quickly – I cut a Simply Graphic berry die from kraft cardstock and then used Festive Berries distress oxide ink to colour the berries. I die cut different squares from coloured cardstock and layered all the  die cuts on to my card base.

The sentiment is from a Sugar Pea Designs set.

Spring Vase

Hello friends!

I’m playing along with the Color Throwdown challenge which has another beautiful colour palette this week – blue, yellow, green and white. Perfect spring colours!

I just received my annual Stampin Up! order and was itching to use the Indigo Blue stamp and die set that I purchased! So happy I was able to use it right away! I also used an older flower die by Simon Says Stamp (Meadow Rue – from 2013!) and dies from Poppystamps and Simply Graphic. The sentiment is by Mama Elephant.
