Simply Graphic

Day 15 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2021

Hi everyone!

As Tracey McNeely isn’t running her 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year, I have created my own event using 25 days from Tracey’s event posts over the last decade, as I explained in this post.

Day 15’s inspiration is Day 15, 2018. I was particularly drawn to the more intricate nature of the tags in this blog post. You can see what I created back in 2018 here and this time I’ve chosen Tanja’s tag. I just LOVE how she created that background and I’m very grateful that she included instructions.

I used my brand new Pinecone Plethora embossing folder from Gemini. You may remember that my original embossing folder met with a rather sad end. But thanks to a lovely IG friend, I located and won its replacement in an ebay auction! Phew!

The dies are by Simply Graphic and Savvy Stamps.

Non-traditional Ornaments

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today I’m playing along with this week’s Color Throwdown challenge which has a combo of orange, peach, red and pink.

I found this a bit of a challenging combo… probably because I immediately though of creating something flowery but my initial design would have needed a green and I couldn’t get that out of my head. In the end, I pulled out some Simply Graphic ornament dies and distress inks and got to work on (yet another) non-traditional Christmas card. I wanted a bit of sparkle so used a Tim Holtz stencil to create a subtle glittery background. The sentiment is by My Favorite Things.

Leafy Blessings

Happy World Cardmaking Day everyone!

And it’s also ‘Originals Only’ day over on Instagram – a day when we show our support for all the wonderful designers who are constantly coming up with wonderful products for us all!

So here’s the card I created to thank just a few of the many companies who continue to inspire me.

I used dies by:

Memory Box (Jasper Leaves)

My Favorite Things (Birds of a Feather set)

Poppystamps (Whittle Oak Leaf)

Simon Says Stamp (Eucalyptus Leaves)

Stampin Up! (Boho Indigo die set)

Simply Graphic (Feuilles geometriques)

Creative Expressions (Elegant Arrangements)

Penny Black (Leaflets)

Hero Arts (sentiment)

I used the theme from the Global Design Project which is ‘leaves’.

Vase for you

Happy Sunday everyone!

Today I’m playing along with this week’s Color Throwdown challenge  which has a fabulous neutral combo of black, grey, cream and kraft.

I decided to create another mini slimline card and started with creating a blended rectangle on my card base. I then cut a vase from the Marianne Designs Vase collection and three Simply Graphic stem dies from various coloured cardstock. After arranging the stems and vase, I adhered them to my card base and added a sentiment by Penny Black to complete my card.

Sealiously Amazing

Hello again everyone!

Next today I’m playing along with the colour challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches. It’s such a fun palette, but it did take me quite a while to decide what to create!

I had toyed with using this beautiful Simply Graphic seal die for another challenge this week, but in the end decided it would be perfect for this challenge. To create my little scene, I made an ink blended panel using a couple of distress inks (Seedless Preserves and Candied Apple) to create the razzleberry colour and cut a few Poppystamps Whittle Mounds from it. I then inked a blue square in the centre of my card base and arranged the mounds and seal.

To complete my take, I added a sentiment by Reverse Confetti.

Vase Collection

Hi there!

First up today, I’m playing along with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

First of all, I created an ink-blended background using distress inks. Then I used some of my favourite dies and stems from Simply Graphic, Stampin Up, Altenew and Miss P Loves. I was going to colour the images but decided I like the impact of the white against the inky background! The sentiment is by Poppystamps.
