Simon Says Stamp

Featuring Simon Says Stamp products

Hello Friend card

Hi Everyone!

I’m playing along this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge

I spent a long time tidying my craft room over the festive break and enjoyed seeing some supplies that haven’t been used for a while. One of the background dies I know I wanted to use again very soon was the Simon Says Stamp Outline Floral Frame die. I thought it would be perfect for the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

As you can see, I actually strayed away from my usual Twinkling H2O/pastel go-to combos and used some Nuvo alcohol markers and Prismacolor pencils to colour the flowers and leaves.

The sentiment is by Mama Elephant and I also used one of the butterflies from the Memory Box Pinpoint Butterfly Trio die set.

CAS Stencil – Monoprint heart

Hi there!

I am so delighted to be a Guest Designer for this month’s CAS Stencil Challenge.  The host this month is Linda and the technique that she is introducing is stencil monoprinting. You can see the first card I made for this month’s challenge here and I also shared this card using the same technique.

For today’s card, I used the lovely Simon Says Stamp Mosaic Heart stencil with one of my favourite distress ink combos (abandoned coral, spiced marmalade and seedless preserves) and I’m happy to say that I got an impression that I liked at only my second attempt this time! I trimmed down my panel and added a Simon Says Stamp die cut sentiment before adhering the panel to a card base.

This is the second time I’ve used this stencil for the CAS Stencil challenge. The first time I used it, I was really concerned that the stencil was too big for a CAS card so I came up with what I thought was a creative use of the stencil for a CAS challenge!

The CAS Stencil DT has come up with some amazing inspiration over on the challenge blog. I hope you can play along!

Bold Snowflake

Hi Everyone!

Today I’m playing along this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge Please don’t tell me I’m the only one that looks at the sketch and sees the sign for the London Underground! Fortunately, I fought through my commuting visions and came up with a festive card instead!

I went through my festive paper mountain and cut a strip of Bo Bunny paper. I then blended a couple of regular distress inks before spritzing the blended piece with a water/Pixie Dust concoction! When the water had dried, I cut it with a bold Simon Says Stamp die.

I attached the snowflake to a vellum circle before attaching it to the card base. I added a sentiment from My Favorite Things and a few gems to complete my take.

Day 10 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year!

The Day 10 sponsor was Simon Says Stamp. Now, I have a LOT of Simon Says Stamp goodies and absolutely adored Shari’s amazing inspiration that she shared on the SSS blog. Here is my take using a Gemini embossing folder, snowflake dies by SSS and a Penny Black sentiment. I even got a chance to use those over-looked Prima flowers and a few pearls!

Day 8 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year!

Picket Fence Studio was the Day 8 sponsor – although I don’t have any of the festive products, I absolutely loved Tracey’s inspiration so I adapted the design for use with the products I have. I used a Tim Holtz stencil, a deer die by Simon Says Stamp and little tree by Flora & Fauna. The sentiment is by Mama Elephant.

Adventurous kitty

Hello friends!

Today, I’m playing along with the current Color Throwdown Challenge which has another super combo – orange, brown, moss green and cream.

I decided to use an old favourite for my take – the Tree-heart stamp from Penny Black. I then spent a good few minutes over-thinking ‘moss green’. I have a Twinkling H2O paint that’s actually called moss green, but is much more of a yellow-green than the inspiration card. In the end, I settled on two shades of green Twinkling H2O and I think they worked well. Once I finished colouring, I decided I wanted to add a little something extra to the image… I came across the Poppystamps kittens dies and decided to use a couple, coloured after my parents’ cats…. one of whom has definitely been known to get himself stuck up a tree!

To complete my card, I added a few brown splatters and a sentiment by Simon Says Stamp.

Thanks for stopping by!
