Pastel Always Smiling

Hello Everyone!

Last year I attended a few Pinkfresh Studio Create and Connect events and really enjoyed them. Since then I’ve been slowly growing my Pinkfresh collection and over Christmas, I picked up the beautiful Always Smiling stamp set and coordinating stencil and die sets.

The layered stencils mean that you can colour the image very quickly but of course I chose to do something different here! I loved how Raquel Arribas used different colours on different stencilled flowers so I had to try it! It was actually pretty straightforward and wasn’t as time consuming as I feared!

I used a sentiment from the set plus the largest dies from the Nested Elongated Ovals Blanket Stitched die set to create the frame. The base is the Honey Bee Stamps Dogwood Blooms 3D embossing folder.

Butterflies for a friend

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the first Freshly Made Sketches challenge of 2025.

It’s a wonderful sketch which has a snowflake shape as the focal point, but having spent a lot of time on seasonal cards (which I LOVED), I was very ready to do something a bit different.

I chose a large butterfly die from a Spellbinders set and coloured it using the coordinating stencil. I cut and dry embossed a butterfly body from the set and I adhered the image to a pearlescent panel that I had embossed with a Spellbinders folder.  I added a few Pinkfresh Studio washi butterflies to the large butterfly, reflecting the sketch.

Finally I added a Pinkfresh Studio sentiment and a few sequins to complete my card.

30 Day Christmas Card Challenge 2024 – Day 17

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Martin’s 30 Day Christmas Card Challenge this month.

Day 17’s challenge is another colour combo – powder pink, plum and teal blue. What a fun combo!

I used the Christmas foliage die set that was in the Pinkfresh Studios Holiday Cardmaking event kit and coloured the images with distress ink. I arranged them on am older Memory Box frame that I cut from white glitter card.

Ghost Week – Day 5

Hi there and Happy Halloween!

It’s Day 5 of Ghost Week and I’m playing along with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge (I have NEVER entered this challenge so early!!) and this month’s Memory Box challenge where the theme is ‘happy haunting’.

For today’s card, I used the Cookie Jar die that was part of the Pinkfresh Holiday Event earlier in the month. I think I would have preferred to use a bigger card base to more add more white space around the focal point but I also wanted to use my Simon Says Stamp ghosts embossing folder one last time this year and guess what won that design struggle?!

I cut ghosts from Memory Box’s fun set of Haunting Ghosts which I’m proud to say that I have used on three cards this year! The fabulous houses are from Poppystamps’ Twisted Houses set – they worked so well with the jar!.

Pinkfresh Studio Create and Connect October 2024

Hi everyone!

Last weekend, I took part in the Pinkfresh Studio Create and Connect Christmas event. I signed up for this event back in July after receiving my August event box which was amazing. You can read my thoughts about the August event here.

We did some amazing folding for Anett Gelencsér’s class. I managed to do just one Make and Take over the weekend – and it was using images from her stamp/stencil/die set combo.

Next up was one of my favourite cardmakers, Nichol Sphor. We focused on adding text to cards and although my ‘heat resistant’ acetate curled a bit, I enjoyed the techniques! Lea Lawson’s class was the last one of Day 1. We used a fabulous cookie set and I deviated a bit to use kraft card and distress oxides!

I didn’t do the guest company class (class 4), but these are the cards I made for Classes 5 and 6. I adore the foliage die/stencil set that Heather Hoffman used – I think it will become a staple in my Christmas crafting for years to come! And Jennifer Maguire’s class was a lot of fun – we made cards that I wouldn’t make by myself – and that is why I love these events so much as they are an opportunity to try something new!

I do plan to sign up for the next class. February 2025 seems a long way away but I’m sure it will creep up on us very quickly!
