Bird in a Wreath

Happy Monday everyone!

Today I’m playing along with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge with Penny Black products.

After smooshing some distress ink onto my card base, I added the Whirl Wreath (51-151) and coloured the berries with a white coloured pencil. I then coloured the bird from the Nestled die set (51-722) using distress inks and nestled him into the wreath! For the other two elements of the sketch, I used the branch from the Peaceful Pines die set (51-705).

Interestingly the sentiment caused me the most problems! Everything I tried seemed to big or too small…. When I was rifling through my older Penny Black sets, I spotted the fabulous word tree in the older Season’s Wishes set (30-201) (it’s from 2013 but still available). I used a couple of post it notes to mask off the sentiment above and below the ‘Season’s Greetings’ part of the tree, and stamped! I really liked how it turned out so I was was pretty pleased to have found that sentiment!

Day 4 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2021

Hi everyone!

As Tracey McNeely isn’t running her 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year, I have created my own event using 25 days from Tracey’s event posts over the last decade, as I explained in this post.

Day 4’s inspiration is Day 13, 2020. I started playing along in 2017, so this is my first inspiration this year where I need to choose ‘something different’ – click here to see the tag I made in 2020!

This time, I chose Lindsey M-P‘s inspiration and used an older wooden stamp by Penny Black.

Winter arrangement

Hello everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the colour challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches using products from the new Penny Black release called Hello Winter!

I lightly applied spun sugar distress ink to create a focal point and then die cut the two stems from the Frosted Greens die set (51-710). I coloured them with different shades of distress ink and then lifted any green ink from the berries using water. I adhered the stems to my card base and added a container cut from pearlescent silver card (container is from the Hanging Planters die set, 51-501). Finally I stamped a sentiment from the When Snow Falls stamp set (30-881)

Day 3 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2021

Hi everyone!

As Tracey McNeely isn’t running her 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year, I have created my own event using 25 days from Tracey’s event posts over the last decade, as I explained in this post.

Day 3’s inspiration is Day 5, 2015.

For my tag, I decided to use Archana’s inspiration. The stamps I used are by Hero Arts and Penny Black. The pine branches are by Pretty Pink Posh.

Golden pumpkins

Hello everyone!

First up today I’m playing along with this week’s Color Throwdown challenge which has a combo of brown, rust, gold and blue.

I’ve been wanting to ink up and colour the beautiful Autumn Vibes clings stamp by Penny Black (40-786) for a while now and I thought this week’s combo would be perfect for the stamp. I coloured the image with my Twinkling H2O paints, but didn’t like how my gold paint looked… So, I turned to some glitzy golden paper, stamped and cut out the pumpkins and did some paper piecing! the sentiment is from Penny Black’s Pumpkin Stack mini set (30-855).

Autumn Happiness Wreath

Hi everyone!

Today I’m playing along with the challenge at the Four Seasons challenge using Penny Black products.

I absolutely love the new Golden cling stamp (40-782) and was so excited to ink it up. I haven’t been doing much stamping and colouring recently and I really enjoyed using my beloved Twinkling H2O paints again! Can you see the shimmer in the second photo? So difficult to photograph!

To complete my card, I added a sentiment from the Autumn is Calling set (30-863) and also softly sponged some distress ink to the background to create a layered effect without adding too many physical layers.
