Christmas in July – Day 29

Hi Everyone!

Day 29 of Christmas in July and I’m playing along with the current sketch challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches. I was initially a bit blocked when I saw the sketch with its two small panels – I usually work in odd numbers…. Still, I was keen to give it a whirl, after all that’s why we enter challenges isn’t it? To stretch ourselves!

I was originally intending to do two Christmas trees but when I was flicking through my dies, I came across the cute Dancing Snowman dies by Memory Box and thought they would work perfectly!

I coloured the elements with a little distress ink before adhering them to my card base. The sentiment is by Clearly Besotted.

Christmas in July – Day 28

Hi Everyone!

I seriously can’t believe it’s Day 28 of my Christmas in July challenge! I can honestly say I have LOVED creating mainly festive cards this month! So much fun!

Today, I’m playing along with the Memory Box challenge. The theme is ‘striped cards’ and I decided to case one of favourite cards from last year, Dashing Through the Snow!  I cut and coloured the Swift Reindeer die from Memory Box using my distress oxide inks and Twinkling H2O paints. I used an Echo Park stencil to apply some distress ink to my base card before stamping a Hero Arts sentiment. I then repositioned the stencil on the card base and applied a layer of Nuvo glitter paste.

Once the glitter paste was dry, I adhered the reindeer to my card base to finish my card.

Christmas in July – Day 25

Hi Everyone

Day 25 of Christmas in July and I’m die cutting again today! Today I used an older Memory Box die, Gabriella Border, from 2013, with the sketch from the current Case This Sketch Challenge – which nearly had me stumped by the way!

The embossing folder is by Taylored Expressions and the word die is from an older set by Simon Says Stamp. I

Christmas in July – Day 17

Hi Everyone

Day 17 of Christmas in July and I’m still die cutting! Today I used an older Memory Box die, Dazzling Snowflake from 2014, with the sketch from the current Case This Sketch Challenge and the fabulous palette from this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge – pink, grey, white and silver. I used this die a lot for some mass-produced cards five years ago; this card is definitely NOT a design for speedy mass production – that inlaid die cutting took a while due to ALL THOSE TINY DOTS. Worth it though, I love the effect! The stamped sentiment is by Sugar Pea Designs.

I’m also entering this into the current CAS Christmas challenge where the theme is snowflake.

Sending you strength

Hello everyone!

Day 11 of the latest Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring challenge and my personal wood stamp challenge.

Today I’m playing along with the latest challenge from The Paper Players. I was determined to use something other than my beloved Twinkling H2Os today so I opened up my Prisma Color pencils again! I loved colouring this older stamp, Delicate Flight, by Memory Box.

The image does not cover the full length of the card but I wanted to extend it so that the stems appeared under the sentiment. I simply cut the image and adhered it to my gold panel with a gap of about a centimetre between the two sections of the image. I adhered the embossed My Favorite Things sentiment over the gap. Shhhhh! no-one will ever know!

Thanks for stopping by!
