With love butterfly

Hi Everyone!

My crafty time has been compressed since the start of the year and I haven’t been able to play along with many challenges. Happily today, I had enough time to create a quick card and I decided to play along with the sketch challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches and combined it with the current Color Throwdown challenge (pink, yellow and blue).

I cut two panels I’d created from distress oxide inks with two dies from the Birch Press Design Sparkler butterfly die set. I then stamped a circle from the Essentials by Ellen set and applied some glitter paste through a Tim Holtz stencil to reflect the sketch. I adhered the butterfly and stamped a Clearly Besotted sentiment to complete my take for the challenges.

Day 2 – 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019

Hi everyone!

I’m playing along with Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags event again this year!

Ellen Hutson was the sponsor for Day 2 and I was so happy for the impetus to ink up some of my Ellen Hutson stamps. I chose the tag made by Michelle Ferguson as my inspiration and the sweet snow bear from the Bearware 2 stamp set. I even managed to use a piece of Basic Grey paper from my patterned paper mountain! The tag die is by Marianne Designs.

Christmas in July – Day 31

Hi Everyone!

I seriously can’t believe it’s Day 31 of my Christmas in July challenge! I have LOVED creating mainly festive cards this month! I’ll be sharing a post on my challenge a little later today.

Today, I’m using a set of dies that I coveted from the moment they were launched – the Alpine Window die set from Ellen Hutson. I finally got them in March and I can’t believe it’s taken me four months to use them.

The dies were created initially for tri-fold cards but I decided to use them to create a layered scene, colouring each layer with distress inks and Twinkling H2Os. I also applied a generous layer of stickles. Love all that sparkle!

The sentiment is also by Essentials by Ellen/Ellen Hutson.

Christmas in July – Day 15

Hi Everyone

It’s Christmas in July Day 15 and I finally got to play with my gorgeous festive dies! I chose a fun snowflake die from Simon Says Stamp and a embossing plate from Ellen Hutson for my take on the latest Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I was originally intending to simply add the snowflake die to the centre of the card, but decided to make a shaker at the last minute!

The sentiment is by Hero Arts.

Christmas in July – Day 11

Hello everyone!

Christmas in July Day 11 (Day 27 of the colouring challenge)!

Today’s card uses the sketch for the current CAS Colours & Sketches challenge. The stamp is by Magenta and I used an older Ellen Hutson embossing plate to create the strips. After much dithering, I used an older Nestabilities die to cut the main image – it’s fun to use the seldom-used nesting dies again!

I’m also entering this into the current Inkspirational Challenge – 3 or 5 of something.

Mondo Sakura

Happy Monday everyone!

It’s been a glorious spring day here in London, sunny and quite warm. The magnolias are in full bloom and cherry tree blossoms are starting to appear. I love watching the evolution of the cherry trees around the Tidal Basin in Washington DC at this time of year. They reached peak bloom today and look absolutely magnificent!

So it seemed fitting that I (finally) ink up the beautiful Mondo Sakura stamp from Ellen Hutson today!

I decided to play along with the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge – at first glance the sketch is pretty minimalist – but then I saw how the design team were filling all that ‘white space’ and decided to follow suit!

I also used a border die from Penny Black and a sentiment from Mama Elephant.

Thanks for stopping by!
