Crafter’s Companion

Christmas in July 2022 – Day 16

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 16 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2022! Today I’m playing along in the CAS Colours and  Sketches challenge.

I embossed white card using a Crafter’s Companion folder and adhered it to my card base. I added a couple of snowflakes plus a sentiment My Favorite Things to complete my card.

Christmas in July 2021 – Day 30

Happy Friyay everyone!

Welcome to Day 30 of Christmas in July 2021! Today I’m playing along with the challenge at Inspirational where the theme is spots/dots.

I haven’t used a kraft-based colour combo during this Christmas in July, even though I love it! So, I decided to go with a neutral palette today. I chose the fabulous Merry Bauble Tree by Poppystamps which I cut from kraft, black and white glitter paper. As I wanted the tree to really stand out against a kraft background, I darkened the cardstock used for the tree with a little Frayed Burlap distress ink.

As I was assembling the tree, I wanted to add a little something to the round tree truck. I liked how that spare dot looked so I added a few more on the larger baubles! Gives it a retro feel, don’t you think?

I added it to a base that I embossed using the Confetti Burst embossing folder by Crafter’s Companion/Sara Davies.

Christmas in July 2020 – Day 1

Hello everyone!

Last year, I dedicated July to Christmas and reaped the benefits in November/December when my life got super busy and I had no time for cardmaking! I LOVED having a good supply of cards to send to all my friends. After all the challenges of 2020 to date, I have been REALLY looking forward to this July and LucieG’s Christmas in July 2020. Plus I have a nice break from work planned this month. Hurrah!

So, for Christmas in July Day 1, I pulled out the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Alicia Snowflake to cut a panel created with Distress Oxide inks. using the sketch from the current Case this Sketch challenge, I then embossed a panel using a Crafter’s Companion folder. Finally I added a sentiment from Mama Elephant and a few gems to complete my take.

Christmas in July – Day 10

Hello everyone!

Christmas in July Day 10 (Day 26 of the colouring challenge)! I have to confess that I’m kind of looking forward to taking a break from colouring once the 30 day challenge ends! I think I may just participate every other day next time. I miss using my dies and my stamps that don’t need to be coloured in!

Anyway, today’s card uses the sketch for the current 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge. I’m not too sure how I feel about my interpretation! It seems to have EVERYTHING and for this CAS girl, I feel I may have gone a little overboard!

The stamps are from Hero Arts’ 2004 and 2005 collections – Graphic Lines Trees and Holiday Ribbons. I used some old Basic Grey paper, a My Favorite Things die and a Crafters Companion embossing folder! I told you – something of everything. It even has glitter!!

Thanks for stopping by!

PS Just realised – no heat embossing or ink blending so not quite everything after all! Phew!

Snowflakes all around

Hello Everyone!

So my Christmas cards are all written/sent, but that doesn’t mean my festive supplies are getting put away just yet! Here’s the card I made for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. The DT call is still ongoing, so I’m throwing my hat into the ring with this one as well and keeping my fingers crossed!

I used a great 3D embossing folder from Crafter’s Companions – Sparling Snowflake – to create my centre panel. I love how this folder embosses snowflakes with differing depths. Quite unique I think! I haven’t got any other folders like this! Some snowflakes are really raised but others are very subtle. So clever!

Anyway, I added the Alicia snowflake die cut by Simon Says Stamp and stamped a small sentiment from Clearly Besotted.

To finish off the card, I added a few Nuvo glitter drops.

I’m also entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge where the theme is die cutting.

Thanks for stopping by!
