Christmas in July 2023 – Day 11

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 11 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2023!

Today I’m playing along with a new-to-me challenge called Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge. One image in the inspiration collage, the blue cone wreath, took my breath away and I was totally inspired!

While I have a LOT of pine cone dies, I decided to create a wreath of blue pine sprigs using panels created with three distress inks/oxides and an Impression Obsession die set! Once I assembled the wreath, I added a Penny Black bow and a sentiment by My Favorite Things.

Christmas in July 2023 – Day 10

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 10 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2023!

I didn’t have too much time to craft today and when I was flicking through my festive stamps, I spotted this pretty tree set by Kay Carley for Paperartsy which I bought several years ago.

I stamped the largest tree image directly onto my card base and used the coordinating stencil to colour a tree shape with Peeled Paint distress ink. I lifted the ink from the flowers using water and applied some aqua shimmer on the petals and added some stickles – this card really shimmers!

Christmas in July 2023 – Day 9

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 9 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2023! Today I’m playing along with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

This CAS card took far longer to create than it should have because I didn’t like my numerous ink-blended ovals! In the end I chose this one which is a combination of Saltwater Taffy, Wilted Violet and Stormy Sky distress inks! I adhered the little snowman scene from an older Create-A-Smile die on top.

For the background, I used the fabulous Spun Glass embossing folder by Simon Says Stamp.

No sentiment on this card – after spending so long on that ink blending, I just felt I’d mess up a stamped sentiment!

Christmas in July 2023 – Day 8

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 8 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2023! Today I’m playing along with this week’s Color Throwdown challenge.

This week’s combo is pink, teal and grey – another combo I recognise – here is what I came up with almost five years ago!

I used an older die set from Creative Expressions with some Tattered Rose, Hickory Smoke and Salvaged Patina for my take this time!

The sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp/Gina K Stamptember collaboration a few years ago.

Christmas in July 2023 – Day 7

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 7 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2023!

So remember the card I abandoned yesterday? Well of course when I looked at it today, I realised that it was actually fine! So I finished it off and here it is!

The inspiration for this card is the Spellbinders July Small Die of the Month kit and specifically the STUNNING card that Annie B Wills made with it!

Obviously, I don’t have the kit, but I do have a LOT of little festive Spellbinders dies so I pulled out all my sets and got busy!

Christmas in July 2023 – Day 6

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Day 6 of LucieG’s Christmas in July 2023!

Today’s card ended up being quite stressful! I had been working on a completely different card, but I realised mid-evening that I really needed more time to play around with it…. but I still needed a card for Day 6…. argh!

In the end I went for this very quick and simple card using two very old Addison Ornament dies by Memory Box and an embossing folder by Spellbinders.

The sentiment is by Mama Elephant.
